1970 Ford Torino Ignition Lock Release?

Guys,

I need to change out the ingition lock cylinder on my 1970 Torino GT and followed the shop manual to the letter and it does not come out. This is a non-tilt wheel, so the steering wheel must be pulled to get at the release pin. Am I missing something?

I want to mention that the reason I'm changing it out is because it does not match either of the door locks. That tells me of course that at somtime in the past this switch was replaced (since it's very unlikely the owner would have to change out both door locks) which leads to wonder if there are two different lock cylinders for a non-tilt and tilt wheel.

How do I get this thing out? Thanks for all replies!
