1. That headliner job is not that difficult. I completed my '63 w/ new sail panels and trim in less than a day. I went with a custom interior (these guys can cut any interior you choose to fit any seat you choose to use). I bought seat covers, door panels, headliner, windlace - the whole enchilada on my resto-mod project. (I have a wheel question posted) The guy who took my order was very knowledgable and helpfull. They will send color swatches for you to see before you order. I'll go back to them on my next project. (I get NO FEE for this endorsement) http://www.rodinteriors.com/headliner-bow-type
2. I've done a bit of measuring (Percy's Wheelrite) and I have come up with what I feel is a workable combination for aftermarket wheels/tires on my 1963 Riviera. 15 X 8" wide with a 3-1/8" offset and 245-60 (maybe 70) tires. Has anyone had experience with these numbers or do you have better ones ? It's a resto-mod of sorts so I'm not interested the stock combination. (sorry guys) Thanks
3. Working on a restoration of my 1963 Riviera: I recently bought a bunch of front and rear suspension parts for a rebuild from one of our 'old buick parts' suppliers. I have new rear bushings that are approx. 0.35" shorter than stock. They also do not have the second 'step' that acted as a stop when the old bushings were installed. The rep told me that it is THE aftermarket replacement and should function as stock. I feel like the smaller bushing will cause fitment issues at the frame and axle mount. Has anyone experienced this issue? Will the mounts pull up tight to these shorter bushings prior to reaching the proper torque or will they need a shim of some sort ? Another part that appeared not to be a direct replacement was the right hand studs I bought to replace the old left hand studs. The new studs are 0.55" longer than the old ones and have about a 0.50" shoulder-no threads between the threads and the knurl. I feel like these are NOT a correct aftermarket replacement part. Any insight anyone can give me on my issues would be greatly appreciated.
