I have a 54 mercury and the lip around the trunk is rusted on the bottom as it goes round the bottom,how is this fixed? Thanks...

Well I stretched the spring an it did not help at all so new oil pump. does anyone know what models will interchange Thanks again for the help.

That's one of the first things I did. I can start it up and pull the drip stick out an the oil is way up on the stick then turn it off an let it sat for a while an it will read full so the oil pump is pumping good so I think its the spring I hope it is, the oil pump for it is close to 200.oo but I may have to bite the bullet.

I'm needing a good oil pump for a 1950 217.8 mine is weak. Where on the oil pump is the relief valve. I've not got it off yet, has someone got a diagram of the oil pump. Thanks

It would be rich ..when it dies do you smell gas and can you see it on the intake if it's doing that then it's your floats are to high, hope this helps you out.

Can someone tell me if a 4 barrel intake for a 312 ford fit a 54 mercury 256 I have a 4 barrel on the 54 but it is what they call a teapot or upside down and I have adapters but they what fit I'd like to change it so I can put a new carb, on it like AFB or holley any help. THANKS
