I was rooting through a box of stuff I picked up at an auction, and came across what I think may be a crank hole cover for a '33 Plymouth. It is about 3 inches in diameter, and has a big numeral '6' stamped in the middle of it. My question is, how rare is this part, and are they being reproduced, or is this likely an original? Was it used on other Chrysler products, or only Plymouths? thanks. Jerry Lehman

I recently picked up a 1928 Cadillac dashboard. (I'm not sure if it's for a Convertible Coupe, Brougham, or V-8 Town Sedan?) It is in need of restoration, but has not been modified, and only has surface rust. It still has the original Speedometer, Temperature gauge, Oil pressure gauge, Ignition switch, and the enamel Cadillac emblem at the top center. My question is, how do I best get this to someone who can put it to good use? Should I sell it as a whole, or would it be better to sell the gauges and trim pieces invidually? Karl, I don't see a photo with your message. I don't know why they made it so complicated, but adding a photo requires jumping through lots of hoops. This might help, but please be aware, I'm not that good at it either: Click on "File Manager" below your message(that doesn't make any sense, does it?) Click on "Browse". (this should bring up your photos) Click on the photo you want to add. "Open" file. "Add" file. repeat for each photo you want to add. Here are two that I'm not familiar with -- (1.) Horn button with crest, five inches in diameter. (2.) Headlight bucket. Mounting surface is flat, not curved like a 1939 Chevrolet would be. 12-1/2" long, rim is 7-1/4". Thanks in advance.

I bought this headlight, thinking it was a 1939 Chevrolet, but it's not. Could it be a 1938, or maybe for a truck? It's 12 inches long overall, and the rim is 7-1/4" diameter. The mounting surface is almost flat, not curved like a '39, and the studs are 5-1/4" apart, front to back. thanks.

Excellent description by jpage of how they work. He forgot to mention, however that they weigh about a ton each, so you may want to have some help putting them on. Here are a few pics of a set that fit my '37. Dunno how much different they are than yours.
