I'll be attending the auction next week. I noticed the 90 reatta (w/91 wheels) a few weeks ago and posted a question about it on this site at that time listing the VIN. Lot #27 should go across the block on Wednesday. I'll try to get as much info on it as possible and post it when I return after the 25th.
Having fun in the sun.

On Nov 26 there was a topic regarding Select Sixty Vs 91 Conv. I'm looking at a 91 white one with red interior and trying to determine how many were made. In that thread the number of white was determined to be 110. In the reatta home page it's stated as 28% which would be 88. also on the color data list it shows 10% green (30 cars. Were any green 91 made? Whats the final figure on white? I'll get you a vin number on the white one when I get it.

Came across a 1991 convertable, White/White with red interior. The seller says it has 40,000 miles and is in excellant condition. He is sending me photos in the next few days. Does anyone have thoughts as to market value? He is asking 15K. Don't know what options yet.

Thanks guy's. Your Reatta knowledge is priceless, as is this forum. I was almost sure this wasn't the first go around on this subject, and won't be the last as new members come on board. I've seen several subjects repeted in the past 4 months since I bought mine. I'm on the look-out now for either of the cars discussed. Jerry

In looking at two vehicles of equal condition and options, does anyone have information on which would acheve the greatest value: a 1990 Select Sixty convertable or the 91 Convertable.

My "90 (Tan interior) steering wheel is beginning to show a little discoloration (dirt not wear) on the top half of the wheel. Mostly in the area where you hold your hands. I think most of the darker discoloration is from hand dirt, sweat and natural oils, but as it's a convertable, so there could be some UV damage also. As of late I've been using very fine leather driving gloves. I want to show it in Seattle next year and want to get it in the best condition possible.
Any suggestions as to the best process to use on this wheel to restore it?

My wife, who has very good hearing (unlike myself) cannot hear the turn signals in her 90 Reatta. Are they pretty much silent or is something missing. They work fine otherwise and blink on the dash.
Item #2 There is a 1990 reatta maintenance manual on ebay with a reserve at about $150.00. Is this the goung rate or a rip-off. Any thoughts, Jerry

My wife recently purchased a 1990 red convertable with 44K miles on it. It was a calif car (Santa Barbara on the coast) Has been in storage for several years, but checked out excellant an we drove it back 1200 miles to Washington state without a hitch. We want to get it into show condition and I am taking care of the few mechanical thing wrong.
My question concerns the paint (bright red). It's in very good condition including the clear coat. I do have to have the lower front cowling under the bumper repainted due to several curb scratches down to the white base coat. The red paint overall has these very fine scratches in it. Is there a good professional way to remove them without a new paint job. I want to make the paint as new and watershine as possible. Also what is the best way to repair rock chips? I have 2 small ones on the headlight covers, and a few on the door edges.
Thanks Jerry

In the photo I see no stitching on the shifter, which mine has.

My wife wants to put whitewall tires on her 90 red convertable. Does anyone have any pics of a Reatta with whitewalls. I think if anything, white lettering would be more to my taste. But you know what they say about opinions.

There is a 1990 white Reatta convertable being auctioned at Barrett Jackson, Scottsdale AZ. in their January auction. Lot # 27. The problem I have (looking at it on their web site) is that it has 1991 wheels. I called Barrett Jackson and they said it was registered by the seller as a 1990. The did give me the VIN number though. It is 1g4ec33c9lb90622. Is it in fact a 1990. If so, did Buick put 91 wheels on any 90's or is this an owner mod.

All the interior lights work properly and go off as expected. The Ajar light does not come on until I engage reverse and the door latches lock that the Ajar light comes on. Is that still the switches?

2 day ago as I got in my car (1990 reatta Conv 46K mi)I noticed that when I backed out of the garage the "Door Ajar" light was on. I stopped and checked that both doors were fully closed. played with the locks Etc, but It wouldn't go off. I turned off the engine and re-started it. It was off until I would put it into reverse or drive. Any suggestions on the problem and cure? Thanks

Tammy.
At the 2003 Barrett Jackson Auction I saw a 1990 Select Sixty Go for $11,880. You can see photos on their web site. This one belonged to Tony Curtis who purchased it new for his wife. It sold with the original Certigicate of Authenticity, The mini model replica, complete books, air guage, gold pen Etc. Yours may now be in the same range in 2006. FYI

I purchased a 90 red convertable last month in Santa Barbara and drove it 1200 miles back to Seattle over a 2 day period. No Problems. it has 44K miles on it.
I recommend requesting the seller to take it to the closest Buick dealer for an onspection. Contact that dealer ahead of tome to make arrangements, and anything special you want checked. This will cost you in the range of 60 to 90dollars but is well worth it prior to getting on the road. I had new plugs and wires, and the trani oil changed. Have them check the age and condition of your tires, mine were in good condition, but were 12 years old. DOT code on tier gives Mfg date.

I'm sure this subject has been hashed over in the past, but does anyone have information on where or how to obtain the flashlight, pen or air guage that orginaly came in the black zippered folder thth the log and owners manual? do these carry a buick part number? Any information on how to obtain these is appreciated.

I'm getting ready to replace the right side horn button assembly on my 90 convertable. Does anyone have detailed instructions on how this is done. I've heard that you have to disconnect the battery and air bag. Don't know if this is factual. Need someone who has gone thru this. If there is a page of written instructions please send to frogsday@msn.com. Thanx, Jerry

In looking at the pictures again I say what I thought was a horn buttin missing. I e-mailed Robin who phoned her dad, and sure enough one side is missing, but she didn't say which one. I did order one for myself from Barney, they are still available
-
The listed asking price is 4.9K, ($4,900) Not 49 thousand.
-
Nic, did you get the photos?

Robin sent me 4 pictures of the silver 1990 Reatta for sale by her Dad and Mom. Her mom was the one who drove it, She is handicapped and put very few miles on it. They are the original owners of the car. In addition to what I previously posted, it also has silver impact side and bumper strips. I don't know how to post these photos, but I can e-mail them to you if interestd. The car looks new. To contact Robin, see the previous posting. The Car is in greenvile SC.

White rub strips(lot #27) was very clean and original (except wheels) 16 way seats and CD optioned. 10,528 miles.
