  1. Trying to find a oil leak on my 64 300.

Do the oil journals to the rocker arms come up at the front of the motor on both sides?

If so, the heads are specific to right or left?

Got a substantial oil leak somewhere above the starter and it's quite evasive  .

Doesn't seem to be coming from the intake manifold  or valve cover gaskets.

  2. Lamar, That was a awesome time with you and Bob. Please forward him my best.

I have a pic of the former 1st lady in the back seat:rolleyes: in my garage.

What was the name of that model?? We found her name????

    She sure was purrtty

Let me clarify that. The picture is of the 1st lady in the Landau. That picture is hanging in the garage next to the picture I got from GM Photo Store of the Landau:o

I still have my Landau shirt and it is my favorite. Maybe it's time to wash it.

  3. Looking for someone with a inside contact at Keystone.

They've had my front/rear 72 GS455 bumpers for 3 1/2 months and now they're not returning my calls for the past 2 weeks.

This is a reputable company I've dealt with in the past but it's starting to worry me.

Getting someone to pickup the phone is a problem.

The rear bumper is a N25 which aren't easy to find.

    Any help appreciated.

    Rick

  4. I've been out of the loop for a while on BCA board stuff but it's certainly a fair request to have a reply from a board member on what has transpired with this Scholarship Grant.

If I voted for or against I would surely stand up and say why.

Assuming Joel Gauthier (the BCA CPA) was consulted prior to a vote.

Also assuming there was a roll Roll Call vote.

    That should be public knowledge.

  5. Hey if anyone watched Pickers last Wednesday Night. They were within 30 miles of Jewell, Iowa.

    Happened to know both guests

I have bought parts from the Doug the 80 year old guy.

Marty's family grew up right next us 8 miles away.

Both Marty and his dad ruled the Hamilton County Speedway back in the day.

All are for sure characters just right for reality TV.

If you saw the picture of a NASCAR car flying in the air that was our own Bobby Hill who drove one year in the Busch series and several years in ARCA.

Connie Clement of well known Clement Trailer liked Bobby and hooked him up a ride for several years. Last I knew Bobby was a shop foreman for Mark Martin not sure which shop he's at now.

  6. Picked up the correct National seal (#450446) this morning. Special shout out to Greg at Oreilly's in Webster City, Iowa. He worked with me.

This is circle dirt track country here. So there are a gazillion small block Chebby's. Go into a parts store or machine shop with needs on a 401 nailhead or a 455 and you get........

"Oh yeah those are cool engines I had a friend who had one back in 73, but I don't know about parts for one".

    Thanks everyone for your input.

Willie, Good to here from you.

  7. Greetings Forum Folks

You can now count me in as a GS owner.

Recently purchased a 72 GS 455 original Fire Red with Black Vinyl top.

The chassis number correctly identifies the GS and 455 (non Stage 1).

    It is a Flint car

The block casting # is 1238861 with 455 above which is correct I believe

The "WF" is stamped correctly between 5 and 7 on top face of the block.

So far I think I have a "correct" block. Trying to verify a "matching" engine.

1st question? directly to the right of the "WF" it is stamped "0b4". What is the 0b4?

2nd question? I removed the power steering pump. No Engine number there on front of block on driver side.

I used paint remover over on the passenger side in front of the Oil pressure sender. Nothing there either.

Do I need to pull timing cover off to find it on the passenger side?

    Thank you for any input.

    See you in Springfield
