  1. thanks for the info. I did find some of the coating that was used to seal small leaks in the oil pan. I am going to try to replace the oil relief valve. My shop man. does not tell how to adj. it, at least not that I can find. Looking for a better pan or better way to fix mine. Have had the coupe since 1972. got it on the road in 2002. lots of little troubles since. wil let ya know how I make out. Thanks again Frank
  2. I need the oil pan for the big six. part no. 199300 also the brace that is on the underside of the hood , bolts to the side chrome strips on the hood. this was "misplaced" at the resto.shop ! <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> thanks for Any help .
  3. My 37 Dictator was rebuilt 4 years ago. ran great . Now the last two times I had it out, the oil pressure starts at between 40 and 50 lb. after about 6 miles it starts to drop to almost nothing. not all at once but slow. nothing in the oil but oil. If I let it set over night it will be back to 40 at start up again. can any one help?   5. I can't post pictures on here. still trying to though. If I ever fing out how I sure will. since my last post the 37 quit on me again. Found 2 loose wires on the ing. switch. easy fix for a change lol I am checking on getting rid of the points. Frank

  9. I want to thank all who tried to help me get my 37 started. The problem turned out to 3 ya 3!! sets of bad points. A friend stoped by and checked it out he filed the new points and IT RUNS great !! Again a big thank you to all . Ilearned a lot for the next problem that I am sure is just around the corner.   10. I checked the distributor. the bearings are good. now taking all the grounds off and cleaning them to be sure. several "friends" want me to do the chevy thing. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> just can't do it. got to be something simple.
  11. I have oo cables. it turns over good. starter has been rebuilt. thinking of trying an 8 volt battery.
  12. I have a 37 dictator. it will not start. turns over but will not start. the car ran great after a rebuild for the first year. [4 YEARS ago}. the second sarted ggreat but soon had starting problems . last year would only start by pushing it. I have bypassed the switch, changed the coil, plugs, points,cond., wires, cap and rotor. and the battery checks good. what am I missing?
