My 1911 Autocar was sold at a Streeter auction sometime in the 1950s. I would like to know who purchased it at that sale and find out where it went from there. Thanks for mentioning this. I know the fellow who took it to that sale and it was complete at that time. It is not complete now and was being restored after the sale. The purchaser took it apart to restore and the transmission was not reinstalled. Consequently I need to find the transmission.

What happened to the open house at your 92 year old fathers collection today? We would like to know how well it went and how you enjoyed all of your guests seeing these long forgotten machines. Those of us who could not attend are dying to know.

Body Off or Frame Off?
in General Discussion

Years ago, "Frame Up" restoration was the term most oft used. "Body Off" restoration came somewhat later, then the two seemed to get tangled and confused sometime perhaps in the eighties.
