Maybe a 1949-52 Dodge Wayfarer?  Very similar to Oldsfan’s Plymouth with a slightly longer wheelbase…

The owner acknowledged improper bodywork on the LR quarter panel.  One repaint, updated interior, etc.  

 

I really liked it.  Seemed to run quite well, although there is a noticeable exhaust leak.

I'm trying to ID this  2dr long hood short deck coupe with the longitudinal ribbing on the hood & trunk - made by Tootsietoy.  My initial thought was that is was a model of an American show car such as Cadillac or maybe a Chrysler Imperial - something that was actually produced.  But, the more I look at it, I'm just not sure.

 

Rather than spend lots of time trying to figure it out, someone on here will probably be able to ID it in no time flat.  It looks like something I've seen before...

It’s not a particularly interesting or valuable old car, but I would hate to see this Studebaker turned into a rat rod or gasser.  A $2000 offer might bag this one, possibly even less.

I agree that the last letter looks more like a “B” than a “C” - however, I wonder if this is due to the camera angle when the picture was taken.  I believe it actually is a “C”.

Rocketraider, I think I agree with at least some Imperial influence.

I really like them, but it seems that many collectors stigmatize Nash/Rambler/AMC as cheap, nerdy family-type cars not deserving of respect.  The exception might be the AMX models from the late 60s-early 70s.

I'm not gonna comment one way or the other on the pricing, because I don't keep up enough to really know.  I must say, I do really like the overall look of this car.  I like the two-tone paint, and I rather like the level of trim, which seems somewhat restrained for this period of GM.

It’s all subjective.  In my opinion, all Hudsons & Nashes after 1954 are sort of odd-looking, but I like them.  Additionally, the Studebakers of 1956-58 look a little weird to me, but I like them, too.  
 

The 1955 Packard was not a favorite of mine, but I wouldn’t call it ugly.  That ‘56 Packard, though…

 

I rather like the three-toned Hudson that is pictured at the beginning of this thread.  In my opinion, that is a nice-looking car.

Am I incorrect in thinking that there was a compass option for these models?  The compass was made to fit the same space as the standard clock.  So, if you ordered a compass AND wanted a clock, you had to go with the steering wheel clock.

[Rock and Roll lost another one]

I've seen Dennis Quaid in lots of roles that I liked.  But, his performance as Jerry Lee Lewis in "Great Balls of Fire" was not one of them.  I could not watch the entire movie. The cars were the only thing worth watching.

I've always thought these were odd-looking from the rear with the sore-thumb tail lights.

I believe the trunk lid on this coupe is from a 1952 coupe, rather than the original 1949.  This particular "Plymouth" trunk emblem housing the license plate light is a 1952 only item.  The original '49 trunk lid had the cove for the license plate located slightly higher on the lid and there was no sort of emblem above it.  

 

Not that it's a big deal for this particular car, but anyone considering getting this for parts would probably want to know this.

[1940 Studebaker Champion Update]

When I see the front view of a ‘40 Studebaker at a glance, I’m reminded of a ‘40 Ford’s center grille with the side panels.  Even the Studebaker’s headlights are somewhat similar to those of the Ford’s if they were inverted.

 

Of course, I can imagine I see lots of things if I stare long enough.

Price may be a bit optimistic, but seems like a nice car.  These aren't for everyone, but I like 'em.  I prefer the slim vertical tail lights on these over the more massive ones that replaced them.  The little Darrin script under the back-up light would be a nice item for a curio cabinet.
