  1. I am looking to repair a coupe that has had the back half removed to build into a pick up years ago. I understand that several GM products are close and could be modified to work as replacement panels on this project. If you have experience with Buicks of this vintage or have some loose tin in the back yard, please get in touch with me.

    Thanks, Alan

Hi Alan, I have a 1828, a 1929, a 1930 and a couple 31's in the back yard all Oldsmobiles should be able to help you out after the snow melts and it warms up with everything but the deck lid. May have a rear bumper too.You can send me a P.M. if you like or go to: http://oldsobsolete.com/ and click on the link to leave me a message.

  2. Hi Dave,

I can probably help you out and am always happy to talk about Oldsmobiles but I am really limited. You can send me a private message or better yet email Mike the guy that has the run of my warehouse at parts@oldsobsolete.com

He has control of of the 500,000 pieces of NOS that I own and is a lot more dependable than I am. You will get faster reply from him if you give him part numbers. Hope this helps

  3. Hi Dave,

We probably have the correct NOS belts for you in our General Motors parts warehouse.Hopefully they will not take to long to find.I believe the NOS belts should have the GM part number cast into the outer edge. Someone is generally working there in the afternoons. We have a massive inventory of Oldsmobile NOS. Someone is usually there in the late afternoons Mountain time. Give us a call if you like. 406-777-3221 or get me at home mornings 406-273-0773

  4. Try doing a search for 1927 Marmon. It is a joke! How many times are you going to wade through 700 antenna listings to find a real listing? I am ashamed to say I have actually done that ! What we will do to complete the treasure we are working on is beyond me.There is another listing service available called Vendio stores. I do not know how many former E bay sellers are useing them but I know that many legitimate sellers have switched to Vendio stores . The only trouble they have is that they are hard to find but if they ever get that figured out E bay will die. That is my opinion anyway. I plan on listing all 500,000 pieces of NOS GM that I have there, which includes a lot of 50 Buick NOS. They are a lot similar to an E bay store but are a lot easier to deal with. I think you would have to do a google product search to find them. You can check out my store atOldsobsolete : Vendio Stores if you want.

  5. Can anyone identify this exhaust manifold or direct me to an internet site that lists casting numbers? I picked this up years ago in a large lot of General Motors NOS. Looks like an 8cyl to me and has a casting number on the back side of the manifold 505512

Any help will be greatly appreciated

  6. Hi Don,

I can probably help you. I have an extremely large pile of NOS GM very heavy in Oldsmobile. It thins out around 1930 but I have a several 28 thru 30 parts cars that are all 6cyl models. If I don't have a set NOS I will have a used set pulled from an engine, hopefully one of the 4 engines will have a good set. I hope to someday to have all the parts I have on my website at:http://oldsobsolete.com/ although I don't think anything for your 29 will be found there at this time. Let me know if it has to be NOS or if a good used set will do. mailto.mike@oldsobsolete.net

  7. I have a partial Ram Air Package that I believe is for a 1968 Pontiac model unknown. I cleaned an attic out years ago at an old pontiac dealership. what I have is the air cleaner lid and the part that attaches to the underside of the hood, misc parts, and a couple of tubes that I am not sure if they are part of the package if my memory is working. I have the GM accessory part number but not with me and will post it later .I can't find it listed in any of my Pontiac part books

While I have you Pontiac experts on hand how do I identify a 389 Pontiac shortblock? I have tried useing my Hollender and from a casting number I got off the crank I think it may be for a 1966 GTO but I really do not know.I have another shortblock I got from the same dealership that I have not been able to find anything on that is somewhat larger than the 389,It may be Oldsmobile. is there any Pontiac or GM casting numbers published on the internet that I can look at? I was thinking that since they have been sitting around for so long I should take them apart and have everything hot-tanked and then reassemble them. Any suggestions? Post a reply or email me

And yes when I figure out what I have got I will be offering it for sale on my website www.http://oldsobsolete.com.

    Thanks for your help !!

    regards gary

  8. I have decided it is time to clean up around the shop and have the following cars for sale.

1941 Oldsmoile 98 Coupe Convertible with 1941 Oldsmobile Model 78 as a donar car. The Convertible needs help but the model 78 is all there and would probably run. I have collected NOS for years to restore this convertible and have 3 NOS fenders as well as Rockers. Price to be determined by how much of my NOS you want to buy.The second proect for sale is a 1931 4 door sedan 6cyl including a 1931 5 window coupe body shell with golf door which together would make a complete 1931 coupe a real nice project. Also for sale is a 1940 Olds parts car as well as a 1932 6cyl chassis with body from cowl forward and a 28 & a 29 chassis with various parts and some sheetmetal. You can give me a call if you want at 406-273-0773 mornings and 406-240-2852 afternoons Mountain Time

  9. I can help you out on parts for your StarFire. I was a very heavy buyer of dealership obsolete inventory for decades. If you want you can send parts querys to Mike. mail to: parts@oldsobsolete.com and if he can help he will post some pictures on the website at: http://oldsobsolete.com/ where he adds around 30 new part numbers daily in the hope of someday having all 500,000 pieces of NOS that we have listed.

    Regards Oldsobsolete

  10. I can probably help you out on the lens.I just talked to Louie yesterday and told him that I was going to box up all my spare parts and send to him for club members to use.I don't have much.Did you ever see the information I sent to Ron concerning the instruction label I found on the Marmon Lubricator of my E75 ? I will probably sent that to someone as well.I have that one as well as an instruction decal on how to properly put the top down on open cars as well as on one other rather small one. Both on white paper with black print.I have been to sick to work on my E75 which is the nicest old car I have ever owned or it would be if I ever got it done.My wife has been hinting around that I sell it but I havn't reached that point yet.

    Thanks for your reply

  11. The new old stock one that we have is part number 3997899.According to my part book it is correct for all 1969 Camaro and 1970-1975 Monte Carlo. The only markings that we can find are located near the valve stem hole and that reads FW. If you would like to see pictures of it we will post some on our website. Oldsobsolete : Vendio Stores

When you get there you can search by GM part number or just click on 1969 Chevy and scroll down until you get to it
