  1. Sounds like a good idea to my F14!
  2. Maui, I know summer seems light years away right now but we should try and get all these SW Ohio Reatta cars together for a little show or at oleast a meet and greet! There is a car show in Springboro every month in the Kroger parking lot on SR 73, I'll try to find out which weekends they have their get together and maybe all these Reatta's can crash the show! Mine might be gone by then but you never know?!?! I'd show up anyway just to see the cars all of you guys and gals have! [color:\\"red\\"]
  3. Jay, Looks like a great idea! Thanks for the post & link.
  4. ALF, I got one of those boxes full of receipts to go with my cute nick-names,too! I'm adding, "A Reatta is a huge hole in the garage in which you pour lots of money!"
  5. seth, check out these links for lowering 1984-1996 Corvettes which have a similar transverse mounted fiberglass (plastic) mono leaf-spring. http://www.madvet.com/shop?frame=1.237.3862 http://www.madvet.com/shop?frame=1088 These Corvette lowering kits are simply a swap to longer threaded bolts for about $70 plus shipping! I'm not say these will work for a Reatta but I'd take a look at them to see if they might be adapted or if the idea can be copied for a Reatta?!?!
  6. F14, She also has a "4 wheeler" called a Rhino made by Yamaha if you know what I'm talking about (actually it's mine but she uses it as much as I do running hay to her horses)!
  7. Reatamanz, sent you a PM for some reason your e-mail address would not work? I'm not far from Centerville.....just nextdoor in the 'Burg! maybe2, no kidding 363 cars! 1 everyday of the year (almost).....I once owned an old Corvette that was just a little more rare only 2 of them were produced and that's why I don't own it anymore. I also had a 1968 GTO that was extremely rare, supposedly only 48 were produced with the options it had....best story however is my father-in-law once owned a 69 427 Yenko Camaro and a 65 Max-Wedge Hemi Dodge both purchased new from the dealer and practically given away in the mid-70's!!! Thanks for the info you can have another "driftwood" Reatta for $2500 if your interested, PM me!
  8. If you can find aftermarket coil springs for a Reatta you should be able to lower the front easily about 1-1/2" to 2" without any impact on geometry. You can also have custom coil springs made or cut to achieve the same lowered effect. The rear transverse fiber glass leaf spring is similar to the late model Corvette design (since 1982) and you might contact some vette suspension experts about lowering the rear with different hangers but most vettes go with a different spring and axle spindles to get the rear end down a couple of inches.
  9. F14, I like that reference to "upper management"! We have a 17 year old HS senior in our home with a "tuner" habit and not enough work hours per week to get his regular fix. There are times when "upper management" around here must step up with the financial aid to give him a "boost" but that's what "dad's" are for! Our daughter, not yet in HS, has a more expensive habit, (IMHO) horses. Between lessons, feed, vet bills and ferrier expenses I can't wait til she starts driving so I can spend money on big trucks and horse trailers!
  10. Randy, I might have a potential buyer for one of your drop tops.....what do you have for sale now? An older gentleman (my father-in-law)in my area sold his 1990 White/Red Coupe last year and he was looking for a low mileage Convert but has not found the "perfect" car he has been looking for. Your 1991 Black/Red w/25K sounds like the car he has been looking for if its still available.

  12. <moved over from "Buy/Sell" thread> Both 1990's one "Bright Red" the other "Driftwood". "Red" is a driver with 122K (gray interior) that runs and drives great with lots of recent updates (brakes, exhaust, etc.) since I purchased her in March 2004. When I bought her (Red) she had minor front end damage due to neglected brakes. Hood and both fenders are damaged but headlights are okay and they both work. "Goldie" was purchased as a "donor" or "parts car" but I have not stripped any parts from her! "Goldie" has 188K+ (tan interior) and the original owner had started to disassemble her engine (parts are all there), he said she was knocking?!?! I have over $3000 invested in "Red" alone and I'm asking $2500 (cash) for them both. They are located in SW Ohio north of Cincinnati (south of Dayton). PM for more info.
  13. Mau, Hey neighbor, I actually live in Miamisburg but since most people know where Cincinnati is and not Dayton I tell them "North of Cincy"! That "Randy" guy sure has a collection of cars.....I used to have the same problem years ago with Corvettes but lost interest when babies started coming along! My "Goldie" is actually "Driftwood" and I'm not up on "all the proper Reatta colors but I think there is a gold and a driftwood, too?!?! Maybe I'm wrong? Anyway, I see a few nice "Red" Reatta's around the Dayton Mall area and there is a couple of nice "White" ones in Centerville & Washington Twp. Used to be a "wrecked" black coupe on Byers Rd in the 'Burg but she disappeared last summer?!?! Your "Blue" didn't happen to come outta Miamisburg did it? There was a small car dealer with a Blue one a couple of years ago that was pretty clean and he didn't know what he had!
  14. JohnT, I had this problem with my 90 Reatta when I bought it a couple of years ago. My problem turned out to be the ignition module and coil pack (I had to buy 3 new modules to get a good one!). Had similar problem about 10 years ago with a 94 Buick Regal GS with 3800 V6 just after an oil change....problem was a pinched fuel injection electrical wire shorted to the fuel line under the "plastic" manifold cover! Kid mechanic at oil change center leaned over on the "manifold cover" while checking fluids and the wire was between the plastic clip and fuel line this pressure pinched the wire just enough to cause an intermittant miss....I got lucky finding it!
  15. It's been a while since my last post (June 15 2004) but I'm still out here and the 1990 "Bright Red" fenderless Reatta of SW Ohio is still alive and well! Yep, she still doesn't have any fenders because I refuse to pay those rediculous Ebay prices. Besides its fun to see the looks on peoples faces who try to figure out what kind of car I'm driving! Just wanted to thank several of you guys for helping me get this old girl back on the road....she needed a lot of "mechanical" & "electrical" TLC to get her back to life but I've had a ton of fun since she was reborn in the summer of 2004! In addition, I still have the complete "gold" Reatta that I purchased as a "project" or "donor" car but have never touched it since I parked it next to the garage. Almost 2 years have gone by and all 4 of its original tires still have air in them....that amazes me?!?! Well before I start getting too sappy I just wanted to give everyone a heads up that "both" Reatta's are for sale. The driver, (Red) has 122K, runs and drives great and everything but radio works....Red has had exhaust, brakes, and tons of other repairs since I purchased her in March 2004. The other Reatta, (Goldie) has a perfect body (minor surface rust inside rear wheel wells) and good interior (tan) but engine is blown. She has 188K if memory serves me correctly. "Goldie" was purchased originally as a "donor car" for parts to repair the minor front end damage on "Red" but I couldn't bring myself to "strip" any parts from "Goldie"! She is a unique color combo and I have yet to see another Reatta like "Goldie" here in Ohio anyway. There are plenty of "Red" Reatta's in this area and I'm sure other parts of the USA, "Red" is very common. $2500 cash takes them both........PM me with questions.
