  1. You might get lucky at a swap meet or on ebay, but I believe your looking at a custom job. Headers by Ed could probably hook you up: http://www.headersbyed.com. Sanderon Headers is another: http://www.sandersonheaders.com. Good Luck!
  2. I agree with Oldsfan. I wish they would include the current by-laws (maybe too much to print?). At least post the by-laws on the Olds Club website.
  3. I agree about the good ole days of cars. It is too bad we cannot pick and choose our options anymore. Everything these days is a 4 door, front drive automatic with 2 option packages to choose from. A good place to look at restoration parts is http://www.fusick.com Download their PDF catalog for 35-60 Oldsmobiles (catalog 470).
  4. A 2 door sedan (post) has a pillar between the front and rear windows. It also has full window frames on the doors. A hardtop has no pillar between the windows and no window frames on the doors. When rolling down all the windows it looks kind of like a convertible with the top up (hardtop). Here's an easy way to tell a '57 88 from Super 88. A standard 88 will have no 88 emblems on the fenders behind the headlights. A Super 88 will have the 88 emblems on the fenders. I believe it even says "SUPER 88". I would think that a Super 88 would have more options, but I'm not sure of the specifics. Where are you located?
  5. Interesting car. I would say it's worth restoring. What is the color? How is the interior? Any options? Sounds like a fun project.
  6. Congratulations! That is a sweet car! I love the '57s. How about a picture of the engine? What color are you going to paint it? It looks like it was blue/white. Check out fusick.com and kanter.com for parts. Cool car!
  7. Valvoline, Pennzoil, Castrol, Quaker State, etc. are all good oils. I usually buy whatever is on sale (the name brand oils only, not the store/generic brands) for my daily drivers or beaters. I have never had any problems. For the cars I care about, I prefer the Mobil synthetics.
  8. Favorite Oldsmobile? That's a hard question... I like too many! My favorite from the 50s would have to be the 1955 Super 88. I also like the 1950 88 and the 1957 Super 88 with the J2 package.
  9. I have a '78 Delta 88 2dr. The rear side windows on both sides have rust in the back corner (I believe a common problem). I am in the process of repairing the back corners. Does anyone have a picture of how the corners should look? It looks like GM used caulk in the rear corner. Should the corner be rounded/smooth or be squared off? Thank you for any help!
  10. I agree! The new JWO format is great. Nice to see the cars in [color:\\"blue\\"] color!
