  1. International I used a company I think called IPS, to ship a 69 Pontiac executive rear bumper in a crate  built for it and it was around $250 or something from NY state USA to Hungary or some other near by European country. which is really reasonable when you consider the size and weight of that shipment.  Fed Ex picked it up, but like Pirate ship it's just a company buying and selling discount shipping so you are really sending it in that case by Fed Ex.

For Everything I ship now I like Pirate ship.  I often buy lots of literature and just send the people selling them the labels prepaid.  I'm sure it's made everything a whole lot easier to get deals done.   A lot cheaper on my end as well as they aren't paying high window prices and I get to chose the shipping method.  I often will spend a little more to upgrade in hopes of better handling.

  2. I haven't shipped any larger items in a while,  but I use a company called Pirate ship to ship all my items every day.  They are essentially a middle man that sells shipping from UPS and USPS.   The discount on UPS rates is insane.  Usually a 40-60 percent or more savings over window prices for foreign and domestic shipments.  Might be worth running the numbers through their system for a quote.  It's super simple and gives you all the different rates from each company.

  3. It would have been a fun find to be the guy that got it out of the garage, at I'm sure a much reduced price.  I kind of like it even with the mods.  At probably 20 or less, which I'm sure is what they have in it, it would have been a fun car to get going and clean up,  to beat around in.   Shame about the front seat.  Really no getting around that,  unless you got real lucky on a period aftermarket over that looked good/ appropriate.

Well, you can't really talk to the one who died :)

At some point we really need to realize that we can't restrict everybody from living so a few stupid people that natural selection will prevent from breeding will have less of a chance of being selected.  (don't worry they'll still find a way) it just means we will have more restrictions on the rest of us.

  5. I'll take reverse the digits for mine.  If anyone really needs one that bad.   Mine has the original wool interior not a vinyl replacement.  I even put brand new tires on it since the photos. :)

I might even take a trade if you don't have quite enough scratch at the moment.  ;)

  6. I buy and sell literature.  Mostly through ebay.

Now is a great chance to pick up some to fill out your collection on the cheap.  Almost everything starts at 2.99 no reserve and I'll gladly combine shipping so fill a box.  It can even be over a few weeks to maximize shipping value.

Right now we are selling Nash ranging from 1926-1956/  Many large prestige catalogs.  You can't touch this stuff from show vendors at these crazy low prices.

Following that is Kaiser Frazer.  A few nights of that,  then off to Packard.  1935-1958.

Tonight I'll most likely be adding Volkswagen.  All Air Cooled,  1950's to mid 1970's

Probably Porsche after that including some 50's pieces up through the 70's,  then most likely back to Domestic.

Probably FOMOCO after that where I have alot of Police car and 1940's-1960's Canada Ford stuff.   Plenty of stuff I have never had before so it's fairly scarce.  Don't miss out.

Here is a link and a few photos of stuff currently listed.

  7. Well we can keep ignoring the warnings and ramblings of politicians and agencies,  but be assured they are in hard press court mode to try to push legislation through without any for thought into how it will impact anything or how the goals will even be achieved.  When you live in a state like NY or CA,  you really need to pay attention as alot of these edicts become mandates.  Funny how they bypass the legislature in alot of these edicts or fail to ask the general public,  through proper time to vet the edicts or laws before they are pushed through.  Usually when passed by state legislature as part of a huge package of other essential things.

Better to be over cautious than to relinquish one inch/right to ill thought out ideas by keeping our head in the sand.

  8. I haven't Used my books to identify parts now for several years,  but in the back of my mind that looks like A Cadillac Number if I'm not mistaken.  Now it's probably not the part number but casting numbers shared similar numbers and sequences so it might be a direction to go.   Could be other GM as well and if I recall correctly late 60's-early 70's?
