  1. I recently came across this car while searching for a pre-war Packard. It's been sitting in a barn for 30 yrs. In the photo it appears to be complete but I've yet to inspect it personally. The owner is asking $11,500. Can anyone tell me if that would be reasonable for this particular vehicle if it is in restorable condition? Also any advice on what I should watch out for would be appreciated.
  2. Any one know of any complete pre-war Packards for sale in Central Ohio?
  3. I'm new here but I would just like to say I think the new website is terrific!
  4. Looking for a reasonable priced complete pre-war car in the central Ohio area. No strong make or model preference but I'm most interested in cars from the 1930's.

  6. Thanks Frank, We're definitely planning to go to Hershey and Auburn this year. I've not heard of Macungie but it appears to be about 7 hours away from me, maybe we can work that in as well. I checked the web site and it looks interesting I've attached a photo from this spring's Amelia Island show. Do you think it is possible to find something from this era other than a Model A that's actually attainable or am I dreaming? Thanks in advance.
  7. The web site shows an event is being held in Ohio on Sept 17, 2005. Can someone tell me where?
  8. Thanks that's good information. I've been to every show I could make this year but it is hard to find one those that focus on pre-war cars. I plan to use it mostly for local events really and won't be hauling too many passengers. I agree about doing the research and that is one of the reasons I am on this forum. I appreciate your encouragement.
  9. Thank you, that's exactly what I'm looking for, someone to point me in the right direction. The late Deco style is what I am interested in. I'm really impressed with how helpful the people in this forum are. Any idea where I might find something like this? Thanks again
  10. Thanks for replying to my post. This may be a stupid question but please remember I am new at this. What do you mean by an orphan car? What do you think about Packards? To a novice they appear to be high priced and I would assume parts would be hard to find but I think many of them are beuatiful.
  11. I'm interested in buying a car from the late thirties. I'd like to hear from anyone that can suggest a good choice as a first purchase. My resources are somewhat limited and I don't really want to do a full restoration. I just know I want something from this era.
  12. That's good to know. Thanks for the tip. It sounds like I better lean towards the end of the decade. When I go to shows I'm always attracted to that era because the cars are so beuatiful. They're like art to me and I would like to have something to do with preserving one. Any suggestions on a good make and model to start with?
  13. Thanks for the reply. I'm hoping to attend Hershey this year. Any advice on good purchase choices for someone just getting started? I'm particularly interested in cars from the thirtys. I know many people have brand preferences, etc. I just hope to find something I can get into reasonably and not lose my tail on. I lost thousands on the Porsche I did a few years ago.
  14. I'm becoming very interested in pre-war cars and am looking for events and a club to join that focuses in that area. I'm really not interested in rods or muscle cars and have already restored a couple of european sports cars. Is this the right club for me?
