  1. Unfortunately, the wife has a 2005 GMC Envoy XL. I wanted both sides of the garage but was shot down . Hate to get rid of the Reatta given the condition. If you know of anyone interested, let me know.
  2. After months of waiting, my 2006 Ford Mustang GT has finally arrived. Unfortunately, the agreement with my wife was to sell the Reatta if I ever found the perfect Mustang. So I am selling the following: Year: 1988 Color: Bright Red Milage: 99K Location: Harford County, MD Condition: Excellent. Garage kept entire life, no accidents, never driven in the rain ever, excellent exterior and interior. I am asking $3500. The car is in perfect running condition with the exception of a popping in the left rear speaker. A/C was converted to the new system a few months ago and the vehicle has brand new brakes and tires. Hate to part with her but marriage is full of compromises ;-). Pics of the vehicle can be found at http://cvkendz.home.comcast.net/reatta.htm and I will be posting more pics of the interior. I may be reached at cvkendz@comcast.net if you have any questions. Chuck
  3. GM parts direct looks like $60 for the bellcrank and assembly. THe assembly looks healthy. Will talk to Barney. Chuck
  4. Feedback on the removal of the gear worked great. Thanks for the info. A separate problem related to the same headlamp assembly is I have a stripped bellcrank. Anyone know if I am going to have trouble finding one? Cost? Chuck
  5. Thanks for the feedback. I will give your suggestions a try this week. Chuck
  6. After purchasing a set of bushing for my headlamp motor, I began removal of the assembly. Upon removing the three 1/4 inch screws from the housing cover and removing both the cover and gasket, I find myself unable to remove the nylon gear and shaft. Looking at the illustration, it appears I should be looking at the back of the nylon assembly with the shaft away from me. Instead, I am looking at the shaft pointing toward me and a shaft an assembly that feels locked into the housing. Any thoughts?
  7. Checking over the FAQ, I only see info listed for front speakers. Has anyone replaced their rear speakers? Know the size or, more importantly, a set for the rears that they are happy with? Chuck
  8. Guess the next logical question is there a Reatta chapter here in MD? When the weather gets warm, up here in Harford County they have car shows up at the Big M drive in and Campus Hills plaza. Given the uniqueness of the Reatta, a group showing up at a show would certainly draw some curious folks. Chuck
  9. In the last few weeks, I have seen two Reattas here in MD. The database indicates just over 100 registered. If anyone has a Reatta here in MD, let me know (and send me a pic for my web page if possible). Earlier today, I saw a black one on I-95. Prior to that, in five years, I have not seen a Reatta in Harford County or on the highways in MD. I am interested to find out if there are any Reattas close to me.
  10. Barney, No way my Reatta was 125 off the line. Last six are 901727. Thanks to everyone for the info. I have submitted my membership for both BCA and the Reatta division. If I miss the newsletter in regards to the 1988 Reatta, is it possible to request/order back issues? Chuck
  11. Jim, Could you send me a pic of your Reatta as well? I have never need a polo green Reatta. Chuck http://mywebpages.comcast.net/cvkendz/reatta.htm
  12. My understanding on the MFD/EEC change was 1) folks were intimidated by it and 2) too many folks were involved in accidents while manipulating it. I was looking for a kit to convert the 88 but the more pragmatic approach is to acquire a 90 or a 91. Chuck
  13. The individual I purchased my car from indicated it was the 125th Reatta of the production line for the 1988 model year. Is there a record or means of intepretation, from VIN or other placards in the vehicle, to determine production numbers? Chuck
  14. I am at odds with myself over my 1988 with the five inch MFD (which I believe embodies the uniqueness of the Reatta) and wanting a convertible. Given that CINC Haus will not allow her new GMC Envoy XL to leave that garage, the prospect of two garaged Reattas is a distant dream. With this in mind, does anyone know of a kit for converting a hard top Reatta to a convertible? Up to this point, I had never dared to make one change to the vehicle preserving its identity however I find myself drooling over the prospects of a convertible Reatta. Yes, I want the best of both worlds. The Confused One
  15. Barney, Thanks for the info. I owe you VIN# and other particulars. When I watch the headlight from directly over top, the bolt and nut just spins but the light does not open. Like, I said, I haven't had time to research it in the shop manual but I did look at the FAQ. I thought just tightening the bolt (because it did not look as if it was flush with the surface) would do the trick. I helped a little but the little engine that could just couldn't get over the hill. Does the bolt turning but light not opening lead you to think it may be bushings? I was attempting to diagnose without taking the entire light assembly off but, looking at your FAQ, looks like a simple disassembly job. Chuck
