  1. OK, bulb changed, no effect; changed relay, everything is working now. Thanks to everybody for inputs.
  2. Right front blinker bulb is gone, I will change it tonight and see what will happen. When the emergency light switch is pressed, all turning signals are blinking (besides front right). I hope, that the same module is responsible for turn signals as well for the emegrency lights.
  3. This board provided me with great help and info about my '89 Trofeo rear suspension. Now my turn indicators went off. When I switch turn signal lever into the right or left position, it's just light up turn indicators, but there is no blinking. Is it a dead relay? Is it located in a engine compartment in the relay box near the windshield washer fluid? If yes, what relay is it? Thanks!
  4. E-Body: + Cadillac Allante Cadillac Eldorado ??
  5. Carl, I believe that my '89 Trofeo is sharing the same front end with Reatta. From your desription I think, that the very same think happened with my car last winter, the left radius rod (which connecting control arm to subframe in front) rusted out and went off on highway at speed about 100 km/h. I was lucky and nothing serious happened. I have to say that no mechanical inspection determined this problem before it happened, since rod rusted out under the thick bushings and rust was impossible to see before you take out nut and those bushings. As for repairs: I found that it is impossible to find just a radius rod in parts shops, I had to change the whole control arm. Left one, almost new, I found at junkyard, second one bought new (expensive). All the rest from your list is standard and easy to find. It's up to you what parts you'll pick up, I went with cheapest/standard. I installed Monroe-Matic struts at front, they're cheaper and feels not so soft as Sensatracks that I have at rear end. I was not able to find complete kit with MonroeMatics and bought all I needed separetly.
  6. If I understand right, the problems with existing electronic intergration of Reatta/Toronado with later engines makes series I SC engine more preferable for exchange. The power gain also looks almost the same. Looks like this guy with SC Trofeo decided to use SC I series also for that reason.
  7. All of yours opinions and information were very valuable for me since there is no really active technical message board about IV generation of Toronado. The struts were changed yesterday with Monroe Sensatracks for Reatta, what a difference in ride! They are a direct bolt on without any mods, all work with a new bushings for rear stabilizer costs me $480 Canadian.
  8. Good job! Is the front suspension also renewed? As I can see, the rear suspension assembly is a exactly the same as Torondo one. Correct me if I wrong, but struts looks like regulars, but not air. Thanks again for the fast reply and images. Great forum and great members.
  9. Does it have a plastic rear leaf and air struts? How is Reattas without self-leveling system made? Springs and shocks or plastic leaf with shocks/struts? If someone have a pictures of both setups it will sure help. TIA
  10. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">What is wrong with the sytem you have? A broken line could be easy to Fix. If the shocks are still good I would fix the air system so you could inflate them manually if the compressor and leveling device are shot. The self leveling system was a great feature on the Toronados and Rivera. I might even have the parts to fix it. If I could find them. </div></div> I got the car three years ago with 112,000 miles and it's my daily driver. It's clocking now 177,000 miles. Since I got the car, I never heard air compressor working, but car felt tight on the road. Recently I feel it really jumpy at the rear end, so I took a closer look on a system. Level sensor is rusted out, compressor looks like out of operation long time ago, air shocks are still original, I suppose; at least front ones were original when I changed them. To repair the whole system will be cost around $1,500; I'd rather spend such money on other upgrades as brakes, new windshield, may be save some for the body work, than to put it all into new self-leveling system. I just found Stutmasters company, who claim, that they do have replacement for almost every car with air ride. I'll check them out, but I still believe, that there have to be a direct replacement with regular struts.
  11. Thank you very much for the info! Are those non self-leveling struts from Reatta direct bolt-on or some modifications needed? Can I use Monroe struts for example?
  12. Hi, guys, I am reposting my message in Olds forum here in hope that someone from Buick fans can help me with it. I own '89 Olds Trofeo which, as I know shares a lot of parts, including suspension, with Buick Riviera (and Caddy Eldorado) from same years, not sure, but possible Reatta as well. The rear self-leveling system in my Olds is dead and I'd like to change the air struts on regular ones. Was it done before? If yes, with what parts? Any help will be much appreciated. TIA
