  1. I attend many car events every year, examining widely varied aspects of the Automotive "hobby". I've gone on Rod Runs, been to lowrider events, concours, car auctions, tractor pulls, monster truck events, open wheel racing, NASCAR, drag races, "drifting" competitions, the SEMA show, etc. They all have appeal, and they are all chock full of "Car Guys". All of them are having fun and they are all willing to share their passion with others. We are so lucky to be involved in this wonderfull avocation. There is room for all of us. We can do whatever we want with our cars. Get involved, have fun.
  2. The Duesenberg engines are quite reliable, and because they are Lycoming engines most parts can be found. E.L.Cord also owned Lycoming, and I have found some parts from Aunurn and Cord owners associations. The more "special" Duesenberg you get (superchargers, etc) the more difficult it is to find resources. The engines themselves, being twin cam, 32 valve types, are marvelous pieces of machinery. Try to get a Murphy bodied one. They are reasonable in price and since they were coachbuilt in Pasadena, California, they tend to have been usedregionally in the Southwest. My family has collected them throughout three generations. Goodluck to you.
