1. Hello All! Any 1979-1981 Dodge St.Regis owners out there? I have started a Yahoo Group for those elusive R-body cars. Fellow R-body owners (79-81 Newport & Newyorker/80-81 Grand Fury) are welcome to join as well. Here is the link: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/StRegistry/ David
2. Only the early 65s had the clear lamps. I have heard several reasons why they changed back to the red ones. The first is Cost. The clear lens with the red internal illumination was costly to manufacture. Second: The effect (lighting) wasn't as good as anticipated. Third: It was debated that it didn't meet the Federal rear illumination/reflection standards. Of course Cadillac did something similar back in 62. They used white lenses right thru 1968. David
3. Hmm, somehow I ended up with TWO left lamps! Anybody want to buy a left side corning lamp? It is NOS. $35. + UPS DavidinHartford@Juno.com
4. Been there, done that! I had a 1961 Plymouth Sport Suburban that needed a gas tank. I searched high and low and never found one. The best I could do was reseal it several times until it stopped leaking. My mechanic joked that it probably held a gallon less afterwards! David
5. Hello Guys and Gals, I am looking for a 1980 Chrysler Lebaron Town &Country wagon. A 1981 is ok too. It must be in great shape, no rust buckets please. It must have wood siding. Color doesn't matter. Please e-mail me any leads or sightings please. Thank you very much! DavidinHartford@Juno.com http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/2/web/698000-698999/698834_12_full.jpg
6. Hi Steve! In wagon lingo, the "Deluxe" was the base model using the Savoy trim. The "Custom" was a mid-level model and used Belvedere trim. The fanciest wagons were the "Sport" Suburbans. They had Fury trim. When you say it is in #5 condition, what is your guide? 1-10 and 1 being perfect? I think Old Car Buyers Guide lists conditions of 1 thru 5. 1 being perfect and 5 being a parts car. For $5000 I would hope it is in really nice original shape.
7. 59 wagon production is as follows: Deluxe wagon 2dr : 15,074. Custom wagon 2dr, 6P : 1,852. Deluxe wagon 4dr. : 35,086. Custom wagon 4dr 6P : 35,024. Custom wagon 4dr 9P : 16,993. Sport wagon 4dr 6P : 7,224. Sport wagon 4dr 9P : 9,549. Engines: L6, 230.2 cu.inches. V8, 318.0 cu.inches. V8, 361.0 cu.inches. Rare? oh yeah. Collectible? Wagons are in again! They are costly to restore, so get a good one. Valuable? Not when compared to a convertible. Resale is not the factor in restoring one. If you want to make a profit, get a convertible. Want to make people smile when you pull up at a tailgate party, buy the wagon! David
8. Hello All! I'm looking for a pair of cornering lamps for my 80 Lebaron. They were optional and only offered in 80 and 81. Anybody seen any lately? David
