What steering shaft did Packard use i mean is it the same as studebaker's or GM or Ford ...And does anyone know the size of our splined shaft.I'm trying to adapt a grant wheel on and as you know they dont make a kit so i was figuring i might be able to adapt from say Stude/Gm/Ford maybe?

My car now has the pertronix in it now so i think i might be able to use resistor plugs....

Thanks ...for the advice Who makes the wires and do they make the plugs,,,And im not keeping the generator im putting in a 12v 1 wire GM alt on for better charging.

Do they make the plugs we use in resistor type if so what part number are they...Also do they make modern type wires too? I just put a radio in and it has alot of interferance i gues from the non resistor type plug plus the soild core wire...Any help would be great. Also how does the light over the radio work whats it hooked up to the door switch i found the bulb loose one day it worked fine the today working on the car maybe i hir something it shorted out well the bulb was burnt out anyway put in a new bulb nothing still dont work any ideas would be great thanks so much "G"...

Thanks the only gauge that work on my car is the gen.light all other guage's dont work...What could that be?

When I bought it ,it was already converted to NEG ground.

Well for my system it is the easiest thing to do, unbolt the points/condensor take the rotor off, slip the magnet relutor over the shaft bolt the pertronix in, check the air gap between the relutor and the pertronix module it should be .030 and make sure to use the the pertronix coil they tell you to use.I think its 40,000 volts, then hook up the positive wire to pos,negative to neg..leave the ballist reistor right where it is hooked up and then start the car and check the timing..And your DONE.... <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> I love it makes the car so smooth and like a new car.

Well the pertonix is in and what a difference it makes, the car start's right up without any effort at all..Now i have to do is to fab a bracket for the 1-wire gm alt. so the car will be very dependable,I can't wait for spring..... <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />.I'm having the exhaust work done now i'll let everyone know how it sounds when i get it back...But i just wanted everyone to know the PERTRONIX is worth the money.

Can I install an edelbrock 600/650 cfm on our stock intake manifold?

So you guys think glass packs will be loud??? I just wanted it to have that real 50's sound to it right now i have single exhaust with just a muffler it sounds good but im into LOUD anoying exhaust.I just had a 97 T/A with a supercharger,headers,no cat's, 3 inch custom exhaust and that was quiet to me everyone that heard it thought it was loud, i thought it was pretty mild...I'm not worried about loud im worried it will sound like a motor boat that i dont want.... <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I was wondering who here has dual exhaust setup's on there cars? And what size exhaust are you guys running?
