  1. I have an '84 Cutlass convertible, would they fit?
  2. Got a chance to buy a red drivers door from an 88 Reatta. Includes the mirror! What's the going rate?
  3. Didn't a guy in Minnesota put a Caddy 4.9 in a Reatta a few years ago? I remember it was for sale on this board.
  4. What year was the last Olds V-8 (excluding northstar which is a Caddy V-8)? The 92 Olds wagon used a Chevy V-8. I'm guessing '88 G-body
  5. Got a chance to buy a set, ad says they're 15" X 7" wide. They are all chrome, no glamour rings and have the snap-in center hub, not bolted from behind. Owner thinks they're for a Cutlass, what years would they be from? Can I use them on my '84 G-body convert that now has 14"s?
  6. My antenna is stuck in the up position like so many other GM power antennas. I've disconnected the power to the unit. My problem is this: I would like to be able to use the "old" style car washes this winter. The kind with the brushes that touch the body. I'm concerned that with the antenna left up it will be snapped off. Any way to disconnect or cut the internal cord that's frozen so I can manually push the antenna down for washing? Other than removing the entire power antenna unit and dis-assembling it?
  7. According to the J body website there were less than 5800 converts made in the first generation Cavalier. That's years '83-'86. All were converted by ASC for GM during the first generation.
  8. Four cylinder fuel injected engine and automatic transmission, this car gets great gas mileage and runs great. There were not many first generation Cavalier convertibles made and this one has the rare ?F-41? option. With that option you get a stiffer suspension, rally gauges and trim upgrades. Power steering, power brakes, power top, power windows/locks and an AM/FM/tape were also ordered. This car originally came from South Dakota and has had no winter use. There is no rust thru as most GM cars of this era have (bad metal preparation used). This car has been well maintained and recently had a new battery, altenator, fan switch, front and rear brakes. American Racing wheels with new tires are also recent additions. $1500 612.824.1201
  9. The rings maybe frozen in place by cylinder wall oxidation. I'm assuming you've already taken out the plugs. Try some Marvel Mystery Oil in each cylinder and after soaking overnight try gently rocking the crankshaft back and forth. Repeat as needed, too much torque will likely break the rings. Best of luck!
  10. 1984 Cutlass converted professionally when new. Full power, Olds V-8, approx. 80M miles. Olds chrome ralley wheels. A few dents but NO RUST (originally from Ariz). White with blue bench seat interior. Top should be replaced (I leave it down all summer). Always stored winters, which here in Minnesota is about 9 months of the year. $3500 612.824.1201
  11. Whatever became of the Reatta with the 4.9 Cad V-8 converted by a gentleman in Minnesota? I last heard of it about a year ago when it was for sale.
  12. Will the trunk lid spoiler from a 1990 T-Type Buick LeSabre fit on my 1990 Olds Touring Sedan? The trunk lids appear the same size and the spoiler is subtle. Was a spoiler an available option on an Olds 98?
  13. I recently took a rack assembly off of an 1990 Olds 98. I believe it must have been a factory option because the trunk lid had pressed in place inserts for the attachment bolts. Each appeared to be added during the outer skin forming operation because there was a slight stand-off from the outer surface which was covered by the underside surface piece.
  14. Anyone know where the horn relay is located on an 1990 Olds Touring Sedan (same as 98)? With it parked and the battery disconnected for the winter this would be a good time to run down an annoying short. The horns used to honk on their own from time to time until the horns were disconnected. I'm guessing the problem is in the steering wheel but with the radio/temp/cruise controls also on the steering wheel I'd like to start at the easiest place. Thanks in advance.

    Antenna

Barney, where on reatta.net is the antenna info? I can't find it. Is it in the "login" portion?
  16. Thanks for the info. I noted that the TS link you listed the car didn't have an Astroroof. Both of ours have it and all of them I've seen have them. Was this a "sunroof delete" option?
  17. Was there ever an Olds Touring Coupe based on the 98? Sounds like your 98 comes pretty close to what it would look like. Since you have a dealers marketing brochure can you tell if all Touring Sedans came standard with FE3 suspensions? What other options were included in the Touring Sedan package? How much extra did the Touring Sedan package cost over and above the 98 base price?
  18. Didn't a guy in Minnesota put a 4.9 Cadillac drivetrain in a Reatta a few years ago? Maybe he can help, the 4.9 is similar to the Northstar.
  19. Does anyone know how to "manually" retract my broken power antenna (1990 Olds 98)? Pushing down on it doesn't work. The PO disconnected it and upon re-connection all I hear is a relay clicking inside the trunk mounted unit. Removing it and going thru a car wash would be alot easier if I could manually retract the antenna. Thanks
  20. The dash lights and tail lights do not work on my 1990 Olds Touring sedan (basically a 98). The fuse panel on the dash by the drivers left knee has no blown fuses but a label on the fuse panel door indicates there is another fuse panel. Anybody have an idea where it is?
