  1. I believe that we are talking about the same part. I am at Kanter.com, and I pulled up the wheel bearing section, is it p/n 01660A "Front Wheel Bearing Kit 66 - 67" that I am looking for? I need the outer bearing race as well, if I can find it. Thanks for the info on the site, I have been searching for a week!!
  2. I am having trouble locating the outer wheel bearing for my 66 Toronado. Does anyone have a GM part number, or even knowledge of another bearing that would work? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
  3. I have a 66 toro, and the only thing about it that I cannot stand are the vacuum headlights. Not only do they not work, but in my opinion they just plain look STRANGE when they ARE up. Has anybody ever thought about mounting four fixed round headlights BEHIND the grille? I usually do not drive very much at night, and I have been playing with the idea for awhile, and I am wondering if anybody has commited, or is considering commiting sacrilage on their car?
  4. Just blew the driver's side head gasket on my 66 toronado. Was tuning the carb, and she went. I decided I might take it to a local shop to do the job, as I am a little short on time, I decided against this when he quoted $320. I buy the parts. Hah, so I will be doing this myself. I've done quite a few on L6 and 4cyl, is there anything special I need to watch out for? As far as parts go, I think I've got everything I need if I buy two exhaust gaskets, two head gaskets, and the intake gasket/valley pan gasket. Does anyone know the torque numbers on the intake exhaust and head bolts? I appreciate any suggestions, thanks!
  5. A little off topic, but not buy much- I keep having troubles everytime I try to join the toro email list- and I can't get to the page on toronado.org that explains how anymore...can someone help with directions, or who to mail? Thanks..
  6. I should have included this in the below post, but I forgot, sorry! I was also wondering if anyone could give any roundabout figures for 0-60 and quarter mile times for my 66 toro as well. Bone stock 425. I'm working on taking off an emissions kit that was put on in the seventies, and I haven't quite gotten it all taken off yet. Just wondering what times I should expect once I'm finished!
  7. Hello, I have a couple questions regarding fixing a few things on my 66 toro. First is that the turn signal mechanism has gone kaput, and I need to replace it. Were can I find a replacement switch? The stalk itself is fine, I need the internals inside the steering column. In addition, how exactly do I go about getting the parts out of the column? Do I need to take the whole column out of the car? I would also like to know of any active toro mailing lists, I'm not having any luck finding anything online! Thanks!
  8. I forgot to mention, it makes no difference with parking lights on or off. I also have the tilt/telescoping steering column with directional lights. -Andrew
  9. Hi all, first time posting here. Recently, I acquired a 66 olds toronado, and I had everything ready to go for driving (except for the headlights). So, I take it out for a spin, and I come back, do the old check-see-if-everything-is-still-working, and no brake lights, OR rear turn signals! If I plug a test light into the wires that feed the juice for brake/signal (test light grounded to the car body) The test light shows light when I depress the brake pedal, and when I turn the signals, it flashes just like the lights SHOULD. The most recent thing I did to the car was put in a new heater core. Prior to that, I had been having some trouble with the turn signal switch, it seems to be bad, but I could not get the @#$% thing out of there to replace it, so I just sprayed some liquid wrench in were I could, and it seemed to clear things up, I had signals the whole nine yards. What could it be for them to both go out? <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> Thanks for all your help!
