  1. Finally got into the Display Diagnostics. Pressed "Off & Warm" for what seemed to be an eternity. This is what I got: History B446 & B552. No ECM or CRT Codes. I also noticed that the inverted triangle "Pointer" over 'OXY' was lit. Does that mean that the 02 Sensor is my problem? Also displayed '0.40 TPS ED01'. Thanks for any and all help. Am at my wits end
  2. Thanks Padget, Will do tonight. Wires should arrive Monday. Thats when I will pull the plugs & recheck everything. PS: I used to own a `70 GS 455 just like the one in your pic. No enduro bumper but, it's erie how much they look alike. Her name was `LiL Cindy. Her & My Grand National were lost in a messy divorce
  3. Wires & shields not wrong... Did them one at a time. But when the new Wires arrive. I do plan to regap the #3 Rapidfires to .060 I know im not supposed to but, At this point. I dont care... It ran better and faster with AC-Delco .060 even with the old Magnavox Coil. Next time I will buy #14's. As I feel that this gap & plug change is the cause of all of my problems. The car ran like a Champ before.
  4. But, Does the car need to be running or just the ignition on? Problem is the car stalls & cuts off at start-up but, drove & idled fine. That was a couple weeks ago. Now it's shuddering under acceleration. Like the engine & Trans are gonna fall out. I did'nt have this problem until I changed plugs from AC-Delco .060 to #3 Rapidfires .045 {but that's on another post}. I have researched many Posts now and there is a LONG list of probable causes. {other than the plug change} I would like to narrow this down with the display diagnostic before I start replacing parts. I am on disability and can not afford to just throw money at it, but I did order a new set of wires from gmpartsdirect. They have not arrived yet. The heat shields, plugs & "old" wires are installed correctly. Although after my initial inspection one of the plug wires was laying on the Oxygen Sensor & lead wire. Would that damage it? Or cause this? PS: If it's a biggie there maybe a Reatta with GNX fender louvers and GSX emblems for sale in Gretna,Va.
  5. Im not offended I only hope I have'nt offended you... I have a tendency to do that, as I am Bi-Polar. Tell the GSCA they have nothing to worry about. I dont plan on racing my ~Reatta~ anytime soon
  6. People put GSX emblems on Skylarks and GS's on a daily basis. They also put GNX Louvers on Regals and GN's. So why is it so wrong for me to put them on my Reatta? You have a GSX 'Clone' right? Whether it lives up to the name or not, It's still just a 'Clone'. "No Disrespect Intended" I have owned both a `70 GS350 & GS455. I put Stage 1 emblems on each Along with front and rear spoilers. I've also owned an `85 GN and added the louvers, GNX emblems and `87 front grille & Spoiler. I also added a front mounted oversized Intercooler. So, I guess that makes it OK?
  7. Take it to a small privately owned shop or "backyard mechanic". That should knock the price down quite a bit, maybe in half? Also dont try to repair the ball joints yourself. Unless you know what your doing. You could get hurt!
  8. Because of the material. I will be using a very fine tooth hand saw. {No power tools}. Maybe even a HackSaw blade with a small handle. Trial & Error Hopefully not to much error First I will drill a hole in each corner to get the blade in. This in turn will make them round. When done I will trim, sand and paint the edges But, Im still worried about whats behind there? Anybody
  9. Thanks, I thought about the upside down thing too. Guess I'll see when they get here... As for the oval vents. I think that it would be pretty difficult to cut three oval holes in line. It's gonna be hard enough for me to cut the straight lines
  10. Only $137.00 each at Sears. American Racing 'Aero' 15x7. The center is chrome cone shaped and not as pictured. Is simular to the old `60's 'Torque Thrust' style wheel. And also makes it look like a front wheel drive.

  12. I would if I had the cash but, unfortunatly im on Disability. I've done pretty good though. I bought the car in June 2003 for $1700.00. It was sadly neglected, dirty and needed alot of work. Brakes, Acumulator, Relays, Axles, Switches etc. You name it... Anyways, By November 23 2003 it was voted #1 Top Ride on Cardomain.com. Im not try'in to win any land speed records but, I do want it to be a unique Reatta in it's own way. It's a Good LiL Car and Deserves it!
  13. Have GSX emblems installed on my `88 ~Reatta~ Contemplating adding GNX front fender 'Louvers'. When cutting are there any wires I should look out for? Any input would be appreciated... Car may be viewed here.
  14. I must admit that it runs better & the idle is smoother but, Im talking about a "Significant" loss of power & acceleration. Also on the first couple of starts it wanted to cut out. Something that has never happened until the plug change. Problem has been resolved by driving & computer adjustments. This car was a neglected mess when purchased. So im inclined to think that there was no coil upgrade. The .060 gap plugs were a year old & like new upon removal. Which convinces me that the .060 gap #14 is corect for my car.
  15. Just changed Spark Plugs from AC-Delco .060 to AC-Rapidfire #3 .045 {Per a few members advise}. Which resulted in an imediate loss in power and acceleration. The old Plugs were clean and white when removed. Maybe it allready has the coil upgrade? I dont know... But, I doubt it. Next time I will use #14

  17. A while back I was reading in a post about Spark Plugs "backing out" from some electrical problem. Now I can't find it! Yesterday I changed a set in my girlfriends Neon. One had come loose and was covered in carbon. What causes this??? Thanks!

  19. Why does an `88 have part #12073954 and an `89 #12073966 ? For Spark Plug Wires from GM Parts Direct. What's the diff ??? The `88 wires price is higher also... AnyWays is #12073954 corect for an `88 ??? Thanks

  22. I have a set of 15x7 aftermarket wheels that make my Reatta look like a RWD. Now I would like to install wider tires. The tire calculater shows very little difference 215/65-15 vs 235/60-15. My question is will 235/60-15's fit front & rear without rubbing?   23. Sounds like the 5w-30 is letting the engine rev higher at start-up. Try 10w-30
  24. Sounds to me like your Linkage may need adjusting. Could also be an internal Tranny problem I used to work for AAMCO. But, Dont take it there. Unless you wanna complete rebuild That's what they'll tell ya. I know all their `lil tricks. Like the old metal in the pan scam... A locally owned shop would be your best bet
  25. Passed last week by a `41 WILLY's Coupe on a trailer and it was Stock! Full Chrome. Completly Original Restored. A pinkish cream tan color. And I thought they were all Modified
