  2. Still running my '32 57S,as original.  Just found some leaks in my heat riser, had it repaired and anxious to try it on the road.  Running at stand-still seems fine and better than with the leaks.  Appreciate all the comments, especially edinmass and Str8-8-Dave.    I have electronic on my '86 Riviera and that work fine with the "newer" cars.  Much better than the original.

  3. David,

I would suggest you repost this on the Pre-War forum.  This car should draw considerable interest there.  You might indicate where you lived (in general), or where the car is located (in general).  I have only slightly newer models, so not much help.  Good luck with the car.  I do know you will want to see if the gas tank is leaking, I assume empty be evaporation by this time and try to turn the belt by hand and see if there is a chance the engine is free.   You might want to be sure that no animals (mice, mostly) have built nests in the air intake.  Plan to remove the oil to see what comes out, before trying to start.  You will sure need a new battery.

Good luck, It is nice to see a young person getting into the hobby, and I am sure many on the Pre-War section will be of much more help tan I.

But then the clubs are drastically different as one is a meet and the other is a reunion.

Pardon me, but I have to ask, which one to you consider a "meet" and which one is the "reunion".  I believe a lot of members would consider a Buick National Meet as also a reunion.

  5. For me, the survey was not too clear.  I had been considering attending both with a relaxing drive between Concord and Strongsville, but there was no question mentioning attending both.  For me, I have not yet made a Registration, but have hotel reservations.

As some of you know, I have been working toward a National Meet in Gettysburg, PA in 2024, so a delay in 2021, may set some shifting in events for 2022 and 2023, OR NOT, should 2021 just be cancelled.  Big question, just how far can the push-forward be continued.  Personally, at age 84, I will be fully vaccinated by mid-February.  But the big thing in 2021 may well be a well restricted event, making it not much FUN. As plans are for mid-west and west coast the next two years, I am hoping we can still have 2024 in Gettysburg.  We will make sure that will be a classy event on the east coast, making up (as best possible) for the losses of the events in Concord and Strongsville.

Meantime, keep wearing your masks, get your shots, or shots, and stay safe.

  6. Steve,

An excellent substitute, as been to Riviera Meet there and proposing a future BCA Meet there. , I am afraid my wife is quite concerned about my health, so we will be withdrawing. This is not because of the venue change, but our decision not to travel. I applaud your, and others. outstanding efforts to make this happen and to make it a safe event.  I just wish I was about 10 years younger.

Again, I appreciate your efforts going above and beyond what was in " your job description".  Thank you so much.

What Roberta is alluding to, I believe, is the fact that I resigned from the BOD. This is due to illness.

Rick Shick was appointed to the board to replace me.

    Jerry is now the treasurer.

Bill, I concur with others. Thanks for your service to the club.  Hoping for a full recovery.
