There was a company that was making new bodies for these distributors out of aluminium? You need the other parts from your old distributor to put together a distributor.

Go to a tractor dealer. John Deere sells them. Might have to order it but they usually can have them in a couple days.

I am uploading the pages from the 1919 to 1922 parts book. Hard to get some in the fold. This should have value as it gives all the timken bearing and cup numbers if you need to rebuild one of these transmissions.

The earlier transmissions/ pre 1922 had a sliding gear transmission lock. The difference in ratios according to the parts book are all in the high and intermediate sliding gears. The low and reverse sliding gears are part number 31919 for both transmission cases.

There were a number of different transmissions fitted into the same case. They had different gearing ratios. There were lots of options from 3.7 to 1 up to 5 to 1. They all take the same case so ought to fit any of the cars. Internals are different depending on the gear ratio in the transmission.

The 1919 to 1921 EG and EH took the same transmission case part # 31889. 1922 to 24 EK and EL took case # 100700.

The oil gets thinner when it is hot. What weight oil are you using?

The never fail raccoon trap. Get a large metal trash can. Using heavy multi strand wire attach a small leg trap to handle. Set the trap in the bottom of the can. Add some canned or dry cat food in the bottom of the trash can. Put the cover on the trash can. The next day you will have a trapped racoon. I caught seven of them from my chicken house using this method when all else failed. And you don't have to worry about trapping other animals because they can't take the cover off like a coon can.

That would be true if we didn't have hundreds of year of suppressing certain history in this country. Even today the battle to not tell the whole story goes on. We need to tell all history not just parts because someone might feel bad. I'm sure this will be pulled but I had to say it.

Guys the second KKK was organised on top of stone Mountain the year before it was purchased to build the confederate memorial There are some pretty strong racist parts to its origins. Just saying there are two sides to the story.

In 1948 they went to replaceable insert bearings in the rods. When I rebuilt my 1940 I got rods from the newer engine style from Steve Allen. You should check with them and see if they still have rods and if so will they work in a 1937 engine.

What is the size? It looks very close to the clocks in 1940 studebaker commanders and presidents. Fit in the glovebox door.

My guess is a light six 1920 to 1922. After that they had single piece windshield and different parking lamps. The light six was marketed in Europe quite a bit. There is still a tile ad for the light six on a building in Seville.

Great car. My first car was a 64 Fairlane hardtop with 289 and 3 on the tree. I loved that car. Died of rust.

Some mid 20's studebakers had oval was control panels but this doesn't look quite right.

Doesn't the NR designation mean they are national rawhide part numbers which can be cross referenced.
