  6. I like your spring-loaded idea... sounds like it could be pretty trick. I actually prefer the mechanical... but skysthelimit made a good point about electric ones. I was thinking digital vs. analog guages as electric vs. mechanical; and you prob couldn't do your idea without flexibility... so I suppose actual wire lines would help with your situation.
  7. I bought a set of 3 2.5" SunPro mechanical guages in a chrome 3-hole cluster for my 66 Skylark (bench car), and although they aren't factory... they do look period correct. I have them mounted below the dash, centered under the ashtray. My local autoparts store had them. They match my knee-nocker knock-off tach perfectly too. I think I spent somewhere between $50-60 for them, well worth it.

  10. I'm planning on putting the original 300-2 back in my skylark with the '65 4bbl back in. I just pulled the heads off to have them gone over, my plan was a good clean up: mill 10 thousands 3 angle valve job pc seals valve stem seals I also had planned on checking the valve guides In addition I was looking at the Isky street cam (.450" lift;256 Supercam) along with the recommended lifters (#202HY). The intake would be topped off with an Edelbrock 650. Does this all sound like a good combo for a respectable street car? Comments please...

  14. it is an MGB. His grandfather gave it to him under the condition that he not sell it... so he isn't; instead we wanted to do the V8 swap! Thankyou for all the helpful info!!! ed
  15. I posted in the Performance section also... I have a 66 300 and TH350 out of my Skylark, a friend has an MG and wants to do a V8 swap. He knows the condition of my motor and trans, and asked how much I would sell for.... so I am asking: 1. What is my set up worth? (80kmotor/3ktrans) 2. How common is this swap? 3. What is involved? Thanks for anything you guys may have to contribute!!! oldskooln@aol.com
