1. Hi all, Ok, I have a 70 LeSabre that's giving me some crap... The heater in the car works, but only on the "max" setting. Rather, the blower only works on that setting. Otherwise it doesn't work at all. What could this be? I'm thinking maybe the blower resistor, but I really don't know. Any help would be great. Thanks! Romy
 2. Where are you located in IL? And what kind of car is it? My email is gobuickgo@aol.com Thanks, Romy
 3. 70 LeSabre 455 (my car, yay!!) 70 Wildcat (same as my car) 66 Riv 60 LeSabre, Invicta, or Electra, they're all awesome!
 4. Hi, Ok, I did exactly the same thing with a car from Montana and brought it into IL. I live right outside of Chicago by the way. Anyway, call up the secretary of state and have them run a status search (or something like that) on the vin number. This is to find out if they have any info on the car. If they come up with anything, such as it has been declared junk, you're in for a long and expensive route to get that thing titled. However, if they say that they have no record of that vin number, your home free. I used Broadway title company in Alabama for my titling needs. They cost $139 and you get a 10% discount for being in a car club (comes to 125.xx or something.) In case they do have a record on your car, you could always get the car and store it for a maximum of 7 years and then title it. Every seven years IL (and maybe other states too) basically erase all their records for cars that have a wrecked or junk title. I have heard that it's possible to get a car un-junked, but when I was asking around about half a year ago (before I found out that all you had to do was call and ask if the car is in their system) I got told again and again that once a car gets junked, there's nothing that can be done. But then again, I have heard of people gettting them un-junked, so who knows? Hope that helped, Romy
 5. Ok, I have a 350 that I'm pulling from one of my cars to put in a 455, but I don't know if a few things will work. Will the brackets (a/c alternator, p/s pump) transfer from a 350 to a 455, or will I need new brackets? Also, I'm not changing trannies yet (but am having to change motor mounts to get the 455 to fit right), so will I have any problems bolting the 455 up to the th350 thats in there? I mean, I know they will bolt together, but I don't know if the 350 and 400 trannies will end up being in the same place. Yeah, that's about it (or as much as I can think of right now). If anybody has done this, please let me know. This isn't for an a-body car by the way, but I really don't know if that matters for what I'm asking (just thought it might so I put it in ) Thanks, Romy
 6. Ok, a question concerning fan shrouds: Is the fan shroud from a 350 Buick the same shroud as a 455 Buick? Meaning, when I change from a 350 to a 455 do I have to get a new shroud. Thanks for your help!
 7. Don't we all want one of these...(well, those of us with the 70 full sized anyway) -Romy
 8. Well, there's Poston Enterprises (1800-635-9781), and TA Performance (http://www.taperformance.com/)
 9. I don't know, but I was just wondering what you were doing with your old full length headers...and if you wanted to sell them. What type of car were they in, or rather, what type of cars are they made to fit in?
 10. Just so you know, there's a place in California called Classic Buicks (www.classicbuicks.com - the site is there, but as classic buicks is moving to oregon, they are closed until oct 1) which makes the weatherstripping for the 4 door hardtops. It costs about $75 I think...maybe more, the last time I looked it was that much. I have a 70 LeSabre 455 4dr Hardtop, hence why I know. Hope that helps. Oh, and I believe they are supplied by steele rubber, but I'm not sure.
 11. Ok, I have a 70 LeSabre which is in need of some new panels (maybe, depending on the price...I'm not exactly rich) Anyhow, I need a drivers side fender and a passengers side rear door (yes, it's a 4 door.) They need to be rust free, as rust is the reason for their replacement. If you have any, please let me know!! Wildcat, Electra, Estate Wagon panels will work too (except for the rear door on the Electra I think.) Thanks Romy
 12. Paul, It's a 70 sf code 455. It's being completely rebuilt right now. It had 50,000 on it before the rebuild. I'm putting fun parts in it. Yes, fun parts. What was gas milage again? I have forgotten already. I'm pretty excited about it. I can't afford to put everything I want on it, but it'll be a nice engine anyway. Hopefully my th 350 can handle it. The tranny was rebuilt about 3 years ago and I had them rebuild it to withstand a more powerful engine. It's only gotten about 1500 miles in those three years at most. So I hope it lasts. Romy
 13. I have a feeling that it is something major such as the cam...the engine has 190,000 on it...mostly highway, but still, that's a ton. I don't care too much as I'm swapping in a 455 in a month or two, but I just thought it would be nice to have that fixed in the meantime. But I don't want to spend the money on a new cam or timing chain, or anything else. The 455 is already costing quite enough. Thanks though. Maybe I'll rebuild this engine, and when I do, find that instead of lobes on the cam, I just have smooth cylinders. Thanks.
 14. I have a 70 LeSabre with a 350 that likes to not work right. Anyhow, it backfires out of the carb at high rpms. I replaced the points and the condenser already, so what else could it be??? please help!
 15. I'm interested in the trans if it's good and cheap. Ditto for the cost to ship to IL. Zip 60402. email: gobuickgo@aol.com
 16. I'm listing this stuff for a friend, so please just call him and don't ask me, cos this isn't my stuff, and I don't know.
Ok, now that my disclaimer thing is out of the way, here's what he has:
--72 455 w/ stage 1 heads - $2000, or possibly less, depends what he sells the engine with. Has 300 miles on it.
--350 w/ mild cam, 10-1 comp. $1400 not broken in.
--Set of Bucket seats for 68 Skylark - $?
--Set of Bucket seats for 70-72 Skylark - $?
--Passenger side 70-72 GM quarter panel - $400
--Driver side 70-72 quarter panel cut off a car - $?
--68-72 convertable top, new - $500
--and a bunch of other parts for 68-72 Skylark's and GS's

Call Johnny: (847) 455 7931
He's in Illinois, right outside of Chicago.
He has kinda weird hours that he's home, so you might have to leave a message.
Again, this stuff is not mine, it's his. I just listed what he told me he had, so enjoy, and if you have any questions, just call him. I suppose if you really want to post a reply you could, but whatever.
 17. I have a rear window for a 70 Wildcat, LeSabre or Electra. It's in great condition, no cracks, chips, etc. I also have a front window that would go on the same cars, however, it has a crack that has been sealed. It's a round crack the size of a half dollar. I also have a rear bumper for a 70 LeSabre or Wildcat. The bumper is just a core bumper (or if you're desperate, a daily driver bumper).
Make an offer for any or all of it; I really want to get rid of it, and I figure someone could use it rather than junking the stuff.
 18. I'm not positive, but I believe that the 70 q-jet for the 455 was only 600 cfm (or 650) and that the 71 to 76 were 800 cfm. So you'll probably want a 71 to 76 carb. Sorry, I don't have one, but I thought I'd let you know. Maybe someone can confirm this or shoot it down.
 19. I have a rear bumper that for a 70 Wildcat or LeSabre for sale. It is a good core bumper, and would need to be straightened and rechromed. Make an offer on it, for I don't know how to price it.
Thanks
 20. Hi,
I have a 70 LeSabre 455, but would be interested in another one. Could you please send me the pics and any other vital information about the car.
Thanks,
Romy
gobuickgo@aol.com
 21. What about a 4L80E tranny? Which, out of that one, the 200 and the 700 would be the best to use. Mind you that the 455 has a around 600 lbs of torque. Are there any other tranny's that would be good for what I need? Thanks
 22. I thought of putting in a 200, but the 455 is going to be putting out a lot of torque, and I was told that the 700 will be able to handle it a lot better.
 23. I want to put a 700r4 into my 70 LeSabre 455, but I don't know how to go about it. If anyone has done this before, please help!
Thanks,
Romy
