  1. Be aware......these batteries are constructed as ordered so allow some time if you are preparing for a certain show. I ordered one from them about the first of the year and have not heard from them yet. They took my order and said they would contact me to access my credit card when they were ready to build the battery. He said at the time that they were several months behind. I'm hoping the hear from them this month

61 polara Thank you for the advice, I did just that and sent a request to the VP of judging requesting guidance . I missed the sale Coker was having last week end but I am sure they will have another.

You might check with Summit Racing, thats where I was buying my tires, same as Coker but they offered free shipping which amounts to a fair sum.

i have aaca senior cars get distroyed in single margue judging were date codes and part numbers are checked

The above statement is certainly correct but I have seen it go the other way too. I've seen Corvettes that had NCRS badges not get their awards in AACA because of the different standards.

Can you show a car without plates without deduction?

Sure, in fact you are better off to show your car without plates, if they are on the car they will be judged. If they aren't there no points can be deducted.

    Thank You

Yes sir. By all means take them off for the show and I would remove the clips that attach them.  Good luck at the show

  6. Chevrolet did for sure offer a spotlite for the full size models in 1961, I have seen several over the years but I did not think they were cable operated, they mounted at the rear of the front fender and had a long shaft with a handle on the inside. I would suspect that if it were ordered at the time the car was ordered it would have been installed by the factory, otherwize the dealer would have installed it. BTW, they were kinda square with a mirror on the backside.

  7. I really don't have much to add to this discussion other than to show my 60 Pontiac which is also a Special paint ordered car. In my case the dealership is long since closed but the family saved the records and was able to supply the original order sheet for the car. The order sheet shows the car was ordered with 59 code 31LH paint.  The only red paint available on 1960 Pontiac's was a maroon color.

  8. I would suggest you contact Diamondback Radial tires in South Carolina and explain your situation and ask them if you purchase a set of the correct size but blackwall bias ply tires could they install a whitewall of the correct width on your tires. If they won't do it I bet they can tell you of a place that can. Good luck

  9. I don't recall a 3 barrel ever being used in NASCAR, at least not during the Pontiac hey days. They did allow the use of dual 4 barrel carbs on the Fords, I believe in 1965 to offset the Chrysler hemi.

I also wonder why the 62 Pontiac 421 with single 4 barrel was rated at 390 horse power yet the NASCAR GN cars had 405 horse power on the hood.
