  1. The casting number 1196914 has been used on<BR>401/425 engines from 1963 to 1966. The<BR>suffix "J" has usually been associated with <BR>engines in the model year 1963. The casting <BR>number does not usually reflect the model<BR>year. Remember, in 35 to 40 years of<BR>service, the heads could have been changed<BR>due to some failure. I have seen many a<BR>engine at car shows with two different <BR>casting numbers from one side of the engine <BR>to the other. <P>Marty

  2. Can anyone give more details about this<BR>motor? "Oldgsnut", what do you know about<BR>this engine? I agree with "MARTINSR", please<BR>tell us what you know. I heard that the <BR>carbs were dual "side drafts" similiar to the<BR>1953 Corvette 235 inline six.<P>Thanks,<P>Marty
