1. I have a nice set of 455 headers for sale. Should fit A body and larger buicks. These hung too low for my car but would be great for most applications. Came with my engine when I bought it. Fresh coat of temp resistant black paint.
$50/pr and must pick up in SF Bay Area, CA
E-mail me at pnc1@earthlink.net
Pics available too.
 2. I am looking for a convertible top switch for a 1972 Buick Skylark. Must be in good, operational condition. E-mail me at pnc1@earthlink.net.
Thanks,
Derek
 3. George,
I am interested. Please send photos and pricing info to pnc1@earthlink.net
Thanks,
Derek
 4. Thanks for the response. The body shop took the interior floor down to bare metal and sprayed rust inhibitor along with some special heavy duty flat paint. It came out very nice. Now we'll put some sound deadening mat (3M) down, then the factory mat and then the carpet.
 5. I am in the process of preparing my 72 skylark conv. for paint. After stripping the interior I found some light surface rust where the rear seat used to be. (California car) Are there any rustproofing materials I can spray on that will also serve as sound deadening? This is a driver not a show car anyways.
Next question: I am planning on dying the original interior from dark green to black. All interior components are in such good shape I am finding it hard to replace. Does anyone have any recommended dye products that can be sprayed on at a paint shop??? What do I use on the metal dash and steering column?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
 6. I have a 72 Buick 350 engine with a 4bbl carb available. The motor developed a knock at start up and I decided to swap in a 455.
The engine is mostly complete including valve covers, oil pan and exhaust manifolds. Some of the brackets and plugs were used in the 455 conversion. The p/s pump is not included nor the alternator.
This is a good candidate for a rebuild. Buick engines are hard to find.
Located in the San Francisco Bay Area the engine is free to whomever can pick it up. I will not ship.
Contact me at dbutts@sflexus.com
Thanks,
Derek
 7. I need some help. My 1972 Skylark is heading to the paint shop and I am trying to figure out which color blue to paint the car. Last night I saw a 1972 Chevy Malibu with a nice medium blue metallic. The owner couldn't remember the name of the paint.
Can anyone send me photos of the available colors/paint codes for 1972?? They can be either sample chips or photos of vehicles.
Thanks for your help.
Derek
 8. Thanks for the feedback. Since the Turbo 350 tranny was just rebuilt and the starter is nearly new I was hoping to save a few bucks. I have a heavy duty radiator, tranny cooler and shift kit to prolong the life for now.
Derek
 9. I am in the middle of a 350 to 455 conversion on my 72 skylark and I have a couple of questions.
Is the accelerator cable and/or bracket different on the 455 equipped cars?
Will the starter from the 350 work on the 455?
Are there any other things I should be looking out for during the conversion?
I am hoping to have the car up and running within a week.
Thanks,
Derek
 10. I am in the middle of a 455 conversion and the headers I purchased won't fit. Now I need stock 455 headers to fit my 1972 Skylark. Contact me at dbutts@sflexus.com
Thanks,
Derek
 11. Seems a shame since the turbo 350 was just rebuilt recently. Any way around swapping to the 400?
Derek
 12. I am in the process of bolting a 455 engine up to a 350 Turbo trans. Do I need to change the flywheel/torque converter?
Thanks,
Derek

 15. I am in the process of a 455 conversion on my 72 Skylark and need the Heater box from a non-AC vehicle. I decided to remove the A/C for a cleaner look.
Looks like I will also need the fan shroud from a 455 too.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Derek
 16. I ran a search for tire and wheel sizes and found that the 15 x 7 with 265/60 tires are possible. Has anyone run this setup on a 70-72 Skylark/GS without clearance problems?
I am also looking for a place in Northern California to find 70 - 72 Skylark/GS parts - any ideas?
Thanks,
Derek
