1. Tom, I forgot to mention my friend Paul Fortune in Ft. Dodge. He hunted me down at a
BOP Swap Meet in Chicago after I left my wallet at his booth. $600 would have been lost had it not been for him. Not only that, the next year at the same BOP Swap Meet, he offered to SHARE a space with me at the GS Nationals with him for free. He is a Great Buick Guy & NOS Dealer. You don't seem to find people like him around anymore. Most are Not very neighborly. Thank You Paul in Ft. Dodge (aka tachman2).
Greg...NEW1966

 2. Amen to that Tom ! I live in Rockford, Illinois and My Parents live in Murray, Iowa (10 miles west of Osceola on 34). I have made over a Hundred trips over the years(with old & new Buicks) to Murray and EVERYTIME I pulled over to rest/check a tire/change drivers/etc. Iowa Police and civilians ALWAYS stop to see if we are ok.
Iowa Hawkeyes Are The Greatest People Around !
Greg....NEW1966

 3. The first Buick to enter the Thomas Family was a 1939 Special in 1941. My Dad bought it and shortly thereafter went off to WW2(82nd Airborne). The "39" was stored at his Dad's place till he got back. My Uncle bought the "39" and Dad bought a 1941 Super Coupe Convert. From there Dad bought a 1953 Super & then a 1955 Special. From 1940 to date, we have owned #19 1939 Buicks ( Specials & Centurys) Coupes, 2drs, & 4drs. In 1969 we started buying 1966 Skylarks & Gransports. To date we have owned #12 1966 Skylark/GS.
In between the "39" & "66" Buicks there have been numerous others( 1950 Roadmaster/#3 1955
Specials/1956 Special/1959 Electra/1964 Electra/1969 Electra/1970 Electra/1970 Riviera/#2 1966 Wildcats/1970 GS/and so on.
I think we are a "died in the wool Buick family." They have been to numerous Marriages/Graduations/Vacations/Funerals/Parades/Swap Meets/BCA Local-Regional-National Meets. If you take care of your Buick, your Buick will take care of you.
Greg Thomas.....NEW1966

 4. Hi Decatur ! Rockford Here !
I have a NOS Auto Cruise Control (complete)
In the GM Box.
Group # 3.880 Part # 995477 Cruise Control
GM
Thank You For Your Help. I was told this is for a 1978 Gran Prix, But you know how that is. I took it to a Pontiac Dealership in town
but they didn't have the Manuals to look it up. They tried on the Computer, but no luck.
It is in PERFECT condition. The Parts Manager said it ran about $200 new. He has worked in the Parts Dept. @ Buick/Pontiac since 1967.
Thanks Again, Greg...NEW1966

 5. Dynaflash, I have been collecting 39 Parts for 20 years. Alot of it is NOS. I have tried to buy a 39 Special Coupe in my town for 15 years or longer. Just the other day he started to finally work on it, so I guess I will look for another. We had a 39 Spec. &
Century Opera Coupe. The Special was "dressed" from Buick Motor Co. with Century Trim around the windows & Opera Windows in the back that slid open & closed.
Verde Green/Spec. & Rainier Blue/Century.
My cousin blew the straight 8 in the Spec. so we put in a 430-4bbl out of a low mile 70
Electra(wrecked)in a salvage yard. Riviera Rear End. Auto Trans on the floor. Had to have the driveshaft made. The only problem was the oil filter assembley. It came out of the side of the motor & hit on the frame. We had to reroute it. The only way you could tell it was not original stock was the dual exhaust. The nicest little Spec. Coupe I have ever seen. Handled like a dream. The fastest original stock 39 out of the 19 we owned was the Century Coupe. Flat Out, 101 MPH. Been all over in a 39. Marti Gra in New
Orleans, Buick Meets in Ohio/Iowa/Indiana/etc. But the best of all were the small town parades. The towns would pay the Buick Club Chapter $10.00 a car. Nothing prettier in this world than a line of
Buicks in a small town parade(with a 39 or two) in the lead. Century of course. Then off to the City Park for Brats & a Beer. 80-90 degrees & hours of looking at each others
"dream cars". There is no way you can come close to explaining to someone what it is like to own & DRIVE a 39. It's a world in itself. 4 Jaw Chuck, You do not know what you are missing. I have owned and driven old cars for years and I will tell you this. No matter where you go in a 39 Buick, people ALWAYS stop you and want to look at and talk about your beautiful car. Sometimes I think the children appreciate them most. The look on their faces. The size of their eyes. They know. "39" Buicks a Beauty.
Greg...NEW1966

 6. 4 Jaw Chuck, I forgot to mention, I have put literally Thousands of miles on 39 Buicks
and have Never been broke down beside the road. The biggest problem I have had was overheating problems in extreme heat. A cooler thermostat, keeping her flushed out, and a auxillary fan takes care of that minor inconvenience. Buick's A Beauty !
Greg...NEW1966
Between my Dad & my Uncle, I drove 19 "39" Buicks growing up.

 7. I have some 1955-56 Pontiac Parts For Sale.
Large Quarter Mouldings LH & RH (stainless)
Heater (under the front seat)
Brake System (truttle vac)
Front Wing Window Assemblies LH & RH
These parts came off of a Safari Wagon in good shape. Car was upgraded & restored to perfection.
I do believe the Heating System & Brake System will also fit other GM Models of those years.
Thank You, Greg....NEW1966

 8. I have a set of "Red Wall" Coker Tires on my
66 Buick (bias ply). They look great. They are dangerous as hell. 20K actual miles on the car when I purchased them new. I have to fight the wheel the whole time I am driving.
One lane to the other. NEVER AGAIN. I hope this helps someone else. Greg....NEW1966
