1. After driving in a particularly heavy rain I noticed condensation on the inside of the glass covering my passenger-side running lights and turn indicator. The L shaped wraparound unit. Is there any easy way to remove the glass and wipe it clean? When I raised the headlight on that side I could see to two screw heads on a black plate. Should I begin there? Any ideas? I could see no obvious cracks or breaks in the glass covering.
2. Sorry...didn't log in. I used Photoshop 7 to resize my image to 80x80 pixels but any other imaging software should work. Try again!
3. Looks agressive, don't you think? [color:\\"red\\"]
4. I inadvertently overfilled the crankcase after an oil and filter change. The level appears to be 1/4 to 1/2 quart too much. Will this cause any problems. The car doesn't burn any oil.....1/4 quart in 2000 miles.
5. Can anyone tell me what is the amount of oil required for an oil and filter change? Owner's manual says 4 qts plus more for the filter. How much more? I having a garage do the work.
Thanks.
6. I had the same problem with my trunk release after I washed the car for the first time (new owner). I disconnected and waited a week....dried out and worked fine since.
7. Well, it finally happened. My wife had a fit this morning when she had to scrape frost off her windows while our other two cars were protected in the garage. One is a recently acquired (Spring) '90 coupe, the other my daily driver. Since I don't want to scrape frost and shift snow during the coming Winter either, it looks like the Reatta will have to spend some time outside during the next 6 months. Any recommendations on car covers and any precautions to take when storing the car outside? It will be driven when the weather permits.
8. I'm following the Brake thread with interest...but other than selling the car, which I really don't want to do, and who would buy it or, better yet, how could I sell it to someone knowing I MIGHT give them a timebomb, or retrofiting another system, which probably will prohibitively expense...Hell! I need some reassurance!!! What is everone else thinking now? By the way, I have plane tickets that I have not cancelled and have no fear of flying but this is something that is really praying on my mind.
9. Can any of the members in the Columbia, Maryland area recommend a Buick dealer or independent garage to replace struts and do alignment on a 1990 coupe with 122,000 miles?
10. Mine is VOUCHER. Nothing to do with the car or marque...it refers to the automated tellers at horseracing venues.
11. Same thing happened to me after I washed my car for the first time. I also had to disconnect the same wire. After I waited a day the water causing the problem dried and I reconnected the wire with no problems since. (I'm now careful not to get soap in baby's eyes during bathtime!)
12. If you can get it out buy a potable CD player and insert the tape mechanism back in to hear music from your CD player. Yes, you have to still click the eject button (my works after three clicks) and sometimes push the program button, but it beats fighting to get the tape out each time!
13. Can anyone post a picture or direct me to a picture of a green Reatta? I'm just curious to see what they would look like. Is there much difference between Sapphire Blue and Maui Blue? Pictures?
14. Please include me on your list. My unit plays after I hit the power button three times!
leopots@home.com
15. Your in a no-win situation. If you keep the car, provided you have adequate storage, something will go wrong....if you sell, you will regret it later. Good luck
PS..I'd make every effort to keep the car!
16. As the second owner of a meticulously maintained 1990 coupe, with 121,000 miles ( oil changed every 3000 miles) would a change now to synthetic make sense? It was also recommended that I add injector cleaner to the gas for a couple of tankfulls. Anyone have any advice?
17. My low oil level warning comes on and stays on about every other time I start the car. Needless to say, oil level, when checked was fine. Oil pressure at half-way. 1990 with 121,000 miles and frequent oil changes. I think the oil level sensor? is bad or is it the computer? Anyone with advice?! Thanks.
18. I just recently purchased a one-owner,1990 coupe. To pass MD state inspection, I needed to replace both front tires. Each had significant wear on the outside. I assumed an alignment problem. At the tire dealer, NTB, the mechanic put the car on the machine and said that he could not align the front end until the left tie rod was replaced. He grabbed the tire and was able to shake it side to side. I read a previous post that said that everyone wants to replace tie rods on Reattas. Was my mechanic right? The car does not shake at speed..50 to 60 mph. Please help me.
19. After having lusted for a Reatta for many years, I finally got my wish! 1990 coupe, high mileage, but garage kept. Gorgeous car. The only thing missing is a CD player. Is it worth the effort...someone said "wiring harness"...to find one and then have it installed. Any advice would be appreciated.
