Yo Cargirl, Reattadudes has new leather for your car right there in Scottsdale. They are exact replacement.
Also, If just your driver seat is sad, you might pick up a used passenger skin (which should be in good shape) from Speedway and transfer to your driver seat. Not too difficult to swap out. Jim Finn may have an answer to your problem. Reattadudes probably has used also. Do not despair!

Maybe the windshield is "new" to that car.

I scraped up four gray caps, have them in the car available for show if the occasion arises, otherwise I'm running black ones.

In today's (Fri.,6/10) Phoenix paper.

Don't forget the gray valve caps.

Worth a shot at repair. Ask around. Some repairers say they can make it disappear, others say they can keep it from running.

For several months I have been listing possible plates for my street rod. Some that might work on a Reatta:

When I replaced the originals on my conv., Barney told me for show purposes the tires had to be the original size and type, i.e. blackwall passenger, no whites or knobbies. I replaced with Toyo, much nicer ride.

The owner of Speedway announced a few weeks back he wanted to sell out and retire, Since then you cannot access "Reatta" on his website. Wonder if Reattadudes picked up the Reatta portion?? Or someone else?

Got my touch-up at WalMart.

Oddly enough, those old Powerglides still see service in drag cars. Tough, tough, the right gear ratios, and if into looks, some had aluminum cases that can be polished.
Had a neighbor back in 54-55 who picked up a 53 Corvette as salvage with a little front end damage. Was a total not because of the amount of damage, but because there was no one to repair it. Body shops did not know fiberglass repair then. I watched the poorly constructed car being repaired and Corvettes have never appealed to me after.

I heard a '91 Riviera pull into a parking area a few days ago. It was making non-stock sounds, had a pair if heavy looking exhaust tips, one per side. I ask the young man driver what he was running. He said only the converter and had made a new tail pipe which he split. He reved it for me and the sound wasn't all that bad. I think someone on this forum suggested that some time back.

Aw, CRUEL.

I had my two Reattas in an all Buick show a year and a half ago, the only two Reattas out of 30 or so older Buicks. The show was held on a Buick dealer's used car lot. An older couple came by and he remarked to his wife, "look the dealer put a couple of his show room cars out here".

Roadsters had snap-on windows with flexible see-through material, not glass. The windshield posts were mounted on the top of the cowl and were chrome plated. Cabriolets had roll-up windows and the windshield was made into/onto the cowl. They both were the cheapest models way back when and are the most desirable and highest valued today.
Maybe we should call our Reatta convertibles "cabriolets".

The epoxy gets so hard it is brittle and cannot take stress. Surely there is some adhesive out there that will do the job. Perhaps one of the silicones from a auto parts store and it would be affordable.
-
The factory would not have made a prototype that poorly done.

Sounds like the chip in your key is not communicating with the ignition system and your car thinks it is being stolen. Probably a broken tiny wire that flexes every time you start the car. GM mechanics are familar with the occurance.

Those little plugs on the bumper are to warn you if you are getting close to the car behind as you park. Makes a bell ding about three feet, dings more as you get closer. Some luxury vehicles have them on the front bumper as well, ahuts the cruise control down if you run up behind a slower vehicle. I agree with you on their looks.
-
Got my white touch-up at WalMart, For tiny chips, I use the torn end of a gopher match for a brush, can control the paint better than the brush.

Looks is all that matters.

Yo, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from northern Arizona. I will be away from a computer for a few days and will be unable to daily access the only site of interest. What will I do? What will I do?

Painting is not just "painting". Needs to be etched with acid first, then paint with paint for concrete, let cure. Will stay a few years, maybe.
