  1. A place to start is to consult the Standard Catalog of American Cars - 1805-1942 published by Old Cars Weekly, 700 E State Street, Iola, WI 54990. It is about 1500 pages more than you need, but it makes interesting reading on long winter nights. You can find them on the Internet as well, I am sure.

  2. So much depends upon the correctness and quality of the restoration and the completeness of the factory offered accessory items. I would estimate a value in the range of $15 to $22 thousand.

  3. Maxwells are to be driven. I have an LC of '08 and a GA of '11. Don't know which I like better. Both are cruisers. These are surely a couple of the better products of Maxwell-Daimler. Let's get everyone on the Registry so we can communicate.

  4. So far as I can find out Maxwell painted six greens: Maxwell, Dark, Brewster, Royal, Wedgewood, and Calumet. Different years had different greens. The 1911 GA for instance was Brewster. I found a nice Brewster. Painted out, the car "looks right". Th paint no is acrylic enamel, PPG #DAR42850. Anyone else have any wisdom on kinds of greens (or reds?, or blues?)

  5. What model are you talking about? Big difference between small 2's and big 2's and 4's with the progressive transmmissions. You speak of 2nd gear, which seems to mean the larger models.

  6. So much depends upon completeness and condition, as restoration costs now days are so expensive. Assuming the only thing missing is the top, and that the car is in good restorable condition, you might find a fair price would be in the range of $4 to $6000.

  7. Battleship linoleum for floor and running boards is getting difficult to locate. I recently purchased some from Tony Lauria; tel.610-268-3441 and am well satisfied. He has six colors. Anyone else have any ideas?
