  5. Check out my new post under Memorbilia. VIKING, the companion car to the Oldsmobile product line. Enjoy the item and description. Jim
  6. Here is a Bronzed Statue of a VIKING. Ever see one before? This Viking statue was presented to Oldsmobile dealerships taking on the Viking line from GM. Everyone has heard of the GM companion cars which were lower priced products in GM's lineup of their standard products. Cars like Pontiac, LaSalle, and the Marquette are examples. In 1929, Oldsmobile introduced it's companion car-The VIKING! It took adifferent path for companion cars. It was a much larger car and a V8. When I acquired this beautifully preserve specimen, the Oldsmobile museum had a Viking on loan with a statue sittiing in front of it. The depression was not too kind to the Viking and they were only in production for the years 29, 30 and a few 31's(with leftover parts from the previous 2 years. I found this well preserved example in the Lansing , MI area at a large antique mall. It had a dated tag on the bottom showing the name of the presenter and receiving party. My conjecture is that the presenter worked as the Viking distributor. A conjecture has not been verified, but his family name is from a well known Lansing area family-still there.
  7. The following brown tone pictures were purchased in the Detroit area from an advertising consultant working for Ford. They were used at Auto Shows in the 70's, attached to carpeted backdrops, attached by velcrow in Ford's car displays. The brown tones have Kodack on the back and are laminated, keeping them in excellent condition. I can suppply a bronze colored frame which is very complimentary to the photos(as seen in the last 2 Pics). Price is $35 each or $50 each in a frame. Plus shipping. All pictures are 17" x 23 1/8" Some of the pics are slightly distorted due the camera's flash reflection, but they are all very good due to the laminated process they used. 1948 Mercury Woody 1942 Mercury Coupe 1939 Mercury Convertible 1957 Ford Retractible 1936 Lincol Lebaron Roadster 1931 Lincoln Town Sedan 1929 Lincoln 4-door 1929 Lincoln 2-door 1913 Highland Park Assembly line 1929 Model A Roadster Quadricycle Ford & Lindbergh Henry Ford and the Quadricycle Henry Ford Circa 1932 1941 Lincoln Collage 1956 Continental Collage
