  1. Thanks. I have a vacuum hose coming out of compressor. Now, how to figure out how to test compressor to see if it actually does work.
  2. With trial and error, I turned off auto dimmer and I can dom/bright lights with dimmer switch. The electric eye was found hanging and not in it's mounted bracket. All the springs that hold the eye on are gone. That's another project.
  3. Well, I haven't got the compressor to work yet. I crawled under yesterday and saw this by the axle. Looks like a tube going to the T was cut off. Still trying to figure out what gets the compressor to kick on.
  4. It does have an owner's manual, but it doesn't tell why the brights don't work.
  5. Hey all. I have a '76 Cadillac Seville. It has an electric eye under the hood. Car is rather new to me. I was driving last night and manually turned on lights. They were on high beam. I pushed the floor dimmer switch and they dimmed. After that I couldn't get high beams to work at all. I tried lightly pressing switch but that didn't work either. I turned on auto dim and adjusted switch but nothing happened. Today I'm under the hood and find the electric eye laying on a trim piece down below behind bumper. Looks like the small springs are missing from bracket that's still attaced to core support. Question: Why don't the high beams work?
  6. Hey, Would this be the suspension compressor?
  7. Thanks for the info. With they had run the valve to the back bumper for easy access. I'll look again to make sure that's the case. Having some maintenance to it done today.
  8. Hi, thank you for this info. I just got a '76 Seville. Love the car. It's not perfect but it has a lot of promise. I'm trying to figure out the ride control. I climbed underneath (really, climbed underneath?) and trying to identify what's under there. I too was wondering where the compressor was. When I was near the rear axle, I did see small hose from each air shock that led to a tee. There is a tire valve end with no cap. Is there supposed to be more? I see the level "switch" nearby. I haven't been under hood yet to find compressor. Anyhow, looking forward to everyone's knowledge. This is our oldest car yet. Have two other Cads and a few other cars. Thanks, Rob
