How do you dispose of the bad gas?
I mix with biodiesel to make fuel for drip torches for prescribed fire. May be an option to donate depending on where you are in the US.

I used this stuff. Seems like a good product and about as shiny as the chassis pictured above.
https://www.hirschauto.com/SUPER-BLK-CHASSIS-PAINT/productinfo/CHPT/
The finest black chassis paint, now available in 3 sizes.
Not glossy, not dull, but a very high quality
semi gloss paint that is the most resistant to
chipping, cracking, peeling and salt.
An excellent paint for the engine compartment of your car as well.
This black classic car paint outlasts and outperforms any similar product. -

I thought underslung meant the frame was below the axle. My TR3 is underslung in the rear, by that definition.
That makes sense, I am looking at the springs. My bad, still wondering why they are different on the Chandler. It may be the norm, I'm not sure.

I'm very favorably impressed by the lack of overspray evident in the area you painted. What gun did you use? It looks like you didn't need to provide a lot of protection to prevent the color red showing up everywhere.
I did not paint them myself, but I can get that information for you.

WOW, what a nice smooth finish with no cracks in the paint. Enjoy that as long as it can last. BTW I am loving seeing the pictures of your car without the body on it. Our cars are so similar and just 5 years apart. Curious what condition your water manifolds on top of the blocks are in. Mine had a copper lining on the inside to try and protect the outer layer. It worked for a while...
They were rusted pretty bad and I had a shop fiberglass them. All good so far.

Allstate is what I use and it has been better than I expected. Easy to contact, quick service and you can track the tow trucks progress on your phone.
AAA spends too much money lobbying for Big Oil and new road construction.

Fenders, running gear, etc. done and the tub will be painted this week. Starting to get excited about getting it all back together again. Went with a single stage enamel. My grandfathers 1961 paint job did not hold up well. Lots of rust under the paint, but no real damage.

Agreed. I just finished cleaning the valves and doing a fresh lapping job on all of them with particular attention to those that were shiny. Once I get new valve springs I should be ready to go. the Folks at Then And Now Automotive are looking to see if they have a match in stock, otherwise we will probably have some made.
Chris, when my motor was rebuilt they were able to find new valves that fit. I am not sure where from and the machine shop is closed I believe. New valves were 30$.

It's the LEDs.
Blinded by the light: Cars in the U.S. still lack glare-reducing headlights
Adaptive driving beams have been used in Europe since 2012. They are now available on vehicles sold in every major automotive market worldwide, except the U.S. -
Does this mean your chains were not the issue?

Mine was like Eric's, smashed old rubber strip. I have temporarily used folded inner tube rubber but will probably use the same rubber you ordered.

I am going to have some wiring questions for you soon. Namely how the metal clad headlight and generator cables are grounded. I also have a note about a ground near the spark and gas controls at the base of the steering column. I get a list together, I am rewiring and have a few lose ends. I think I am going to reuse all the wire connectors and lugs, all being soldered will be easy.

https://www.vintagepartsource.com/
Its not a source in itself, but it contains links to all sorts of suppliers in many different categories. Who knows, you may get lucky and find that long sought after item.
I ended up finding this site googling for parts. Thought I would toss it out there in case it is not well known.
Lots of sources for body/trim and all of the other categories.

I don't think too many door panels were just this type of material, they were usually covered with something. Trucks may have been an exception.
My 22 Chandler was, and it was about $2,100 new. I have the originals. I'll get some pictures.

There is a painted "cowlboard available in several different colors. It's About 1/8 in. thick and has an embossed grain pattern on the colored side. It can be repainted in any color. It's 39" x 65" and can be bought through Restoration Specialties in PA. They will send samples if asked. Their no. is 814-467-9842. They also have a black door panel material in 39"x65" and 32"x 48" but it's smooth on both sides. Hope this helps.
Thank you, I give them a try and report back what I find.

Painted patterned cardboard, no fabric. I am sure many cars had this over the interior doors, mines a 1922 Chandler Royal Dispatch.
I guess I am going to repair the damaged ones with a modern cardboard back for stabilization. But would like to know if the material is available and what folks do when their door panels are shot.
Your chance to comment on owning a Dodge.
