  1. Hi! The brake pedal on my Buick riviera 1964 is rather stiff and engages very directly. The car have enough stopping power, but I would like to have more "play" in my pedal. Anyone know what the issue might be? The last owner says that he "did" the brakes some time before selling it. Cheers!
  2. What is T/A? Im Swedish so I'm not fully down with all the lingo
  3. These should be OEM thickness according to the seller, who I find credible. They are 2,75mm thick (0.108... inches) Shims are a great tip, might do that!
  4. Thanks for all your advice! I went and got new tips here locally (I live in Sweden). The new tips are alot thicker than the old ones though. Could this cause a problem with my push-rods?
  5. Hi! I have been experiencing a slight tick, that I think comes from the lifters. I went and removed the rocker assembly today to clean everything and noticed that one of the rockers looked different. There where also some (not much) rusty goop where the rocker touches the valvespring. The rocker in question has a different number on the casting. Maybe it's been changed? The thing is that it seems more worn than the other ones. Could this be the cause of the tick? Should I replace it?
  6. Hi! I have been searching high and low for a turn signal assembly for a Riviera 1964 with tilt column. Someone recommended contacting you, but sadly my account is to fresh to message directly. Do you happen to have such an assembly?
  7. Hi! After extensive googling I have yet to find an aftermarket turn signal assembly (the assembly in the column) for my 1964 Riviera. Do you know of any resellers? Is there an assembly from another GM-car that might fit?
  8. Hi again! Thx for all the replies! So, I spent a whole night in the garage, going through what's been done. Thankfully, the mess wasn't that severe. Most of it is restored, and everything works perfectly. One thing though. My washer switch fell apart under disassembly. I got all parts, but I can still rotate it 360 degrees. I feel the clicks and the switch works. But shouldn't there be stops at both ends?
  9. Hi guys! The newbie here again! My Riviera has decades of homemade wiring done to it, so I will have dig in an go through all wiring. Add to this that my fusebox is really corroded and some previous owner has been bypassing it instead of fixing it. Most of the work that needs to be done is between the battery and firewall so to speak. I have fixed the wiring to the back so that everything is working. What should I remove to get the best access to the wiring in both sides of the firewall? Should I remove the instrumentcluster again, or maybe the dash?
  10. Still haven't found out what KY means, it really should be KV to be 100% sure. But all evidence points to it being a low comp 401.
  11. Thank you! It's an ST400. Glad to have figured this out! Couldn't have done it without you guys!
  12. Yeah! All evidence points to that. Since I am kinda inexperienced at this, how do I tell what transmission I got? Dynaflow or TH400? I cannot drive the car atm, since I am redoing all electrics.
  13. Speedo is in KM, and as for rust, it's pretty well preserved. The rust that I got and the repairs that have been made, aside from the wear and tear, are consistent with being used in our climate. The carburator is an Edelbrock Performer. 1406 i believe. 4bbl.
  14. Thanks for all responses! I did some further digging, looking at some casting numbers on the block, head and intake. What I found was: Block number: 1364705-3. That translates to a late 64-66, 401 or 425 block Head number: 1196914: Same thing here, seems like it's a shared number for 364/401/425cui between 63-66. Intake: 1185976: This number refers to a 4bbl 401. First clue! Although teambuick.com lists it as a 1963 and my engine is clearly a 1964. Maybe the intake manifold got replaced at some point. The investigation continues!
