  1. Does anyone have outside rear door handles for a 1929 Buick Model 27 Series 116 they can part with? Thanks, John
  2. Thanks Ben, Yeah, It's going to be fun. Can't wait to get it on the road and go to a few local shows...
  3. About a month ago I bought a 1929 Buick Model 27 116 Series. It's a 4-door car. It's a solid old car and we really like it. Of course, it's in original condition and I have quite of bit to do to it. But I did get it started and it runs. Still have some adjusting to do. I do need a few parts so if anyone has some stuff to sell, so please let me know what you have, and I will see if I need them. I do need the rear exterior outside door handles and maybe the top molding vinyl/rubber around the top material. Nice to be here. Thanks for looking, John Craig
  4. Hi John, I am starting to figure that out. I used to work on cars years ago and I don't think I've lost any of that knowledge. Although I haven't had anything this old. Last one I had was a 52 Pontiac. That was fun. Finding parts is proving to be a challenge. Thanks buddy, John

  6. Thank you Hubert for the advice and link. I always listen to sound and tried and true advice... I will look at the link. Thanks again...
  7. Hi All, I recently bought a 1929 Buick Model 27 116 Series 4-door sedan. 239 overhead valve straight six. I don't know if I would ever do this but, How much trouble is it to change the Marvel updraft carburetor to a downdraft carburetor? The updraft one on there now is supposed to be a new rebuilt one. I just got it started and it is running rough and I'm sure it needs adjusting. I thought I read that some said you can invert the intake and change the carb. I was just wondering about changing it over.

    door handles

  9. Hi, I need both rear outside door handles for a 1929 Buick Model 27 116 Series Anyone have any> Thanks
  10. Thank you! I wondered about that but I was a little worried about doing that for fear that I might break the escutcheon or the handle, knowing it was made of pot metal... I will have to try that tomorrow.
  11. Hi everyone, I am new here so I might screw up at first.. Anyway. I recently bought a 1929 Buick Model 27 116 Series. 4 door sedan. I am looking for both rear outside door handles. And a couple hood hold downs, I did find a inside window crank and escutcheon that was missing. So I have been trying to get one of the inside door handles off and I can not figure it out. The escutcheon threads on so it won't push in for access. There is a small rectangle cutout in the escutcheon and I was told to use a dental pick to depress a pin to release the handle. Well, I can't see or feel any pin there. There is a small groove in there but there is no pin or u-shaped clip that a lot of handles had, Do any of you all have or know any tricks to get the handle off. I will need to take all of the handles and windows cranks off. Thanks in advance... I have added a picture of the front door handle. I think the rear ones that I need looks like these. Thanks
  12. Sorry, I am new in here and I guess I flubbed on my post...
  13. Forgot to say...1929 Buick Model 27 116 Series 4 door suicide rear doors...
  14. The escutcheon will not press is at all. It actually threads into the door handle mechanism and it will move a little but not enough to get to any type of pin if one is there. There is a sort of a slot/groove there but it doesn't look like it goes all the way around. So there is no u-shaped clip there. There is a small rectangle shaped cutout in the escutcheon I guess for access but I see no pin in there. I have spent a lot of time trying to get it and it's driving me nuts. Eventually I will need to take them all off including window and opera window cranks. I have many years experience working on cars and machine maintenance so I'm not a novice. Any suggestions anyone??.
  15. Can anyone tell me the trick to remove the inside door handle/window crank? someone said there is a pin in the handle you have to depress with a dental pick to release the handle. Well, I have used all kinds of picks and I cannot find the pin. And does not have the U-shaped clip as a lot of cars had. Thanks
