  1. Yeah 10-4. Got one coming from Amazon. Having a hell of a time getting the handles from the inside of doors. Some weird clip almost impossible to get off. Plus I have power window controls I have to figure out how to remove them. So many issues. Removing the front power seat
  2. Here's the trunk piece an pics of the tubes and control. The controls aren't mounted to dash, just sitting on the floor. Now I'm trying to get the inside door handles off so I can take the door panels off. One window is down and car has power windows,so I'll find a way to get it up til I get a battery and see if anything electrical works at all.
  3. I'm gonna post pics of the trunk unit and other questionable items I find today. Must've removed 20 pounds of history from the floors yesterday in the form of mesquite seeds, mouse droppings, pieces of cactus. My service manual just arrived yesterday too, so hopefully it will help me figure out how to disassemble the front seats so I can get them out. Then I'll remove carpet and headliner. Really excited to see if the floors are as solid as I think they are. Any advice on prepping the floor? I was just going to wire brush with drill to all metal, then use some solution my friend told me about that kills all rust in tiny scratches left by brush, then I was going to spray Rust-Oleum before putting down sound deadening on floor and roof
  4. I think these might be the controls for ac. They're just laying on the floor under the dash. Haven't tried to see what they go to but I know that the right button pulls out . I'll look into it more tomorrow
  5. I think it has an early after market ac. Factory system sent cold air up tubes into ductwork in the headliner and out vents in the ceiling. Mine has just the tubes blowing the air into the passenger compartment
  6. I'm afraid mine may be an early after market system since there's no vents or ductwork in the headliner
  7. Thanks for all the info. I'll be posting some pics soon along with more info on the ac. I'm also looking for a carb as this car has none
  8. I will try to add pics once I get it here tomorrow. Do you know if the factory system goes into ducts in the ceiling or just blow from the tubes?
  9. Thanks. The car has been parked since 65 so it's gotta be empty by now. The compressor does turn. I pick it up tomorrow and will be doing a lot of tearing down and seeing what's there. I read where the cold air goes thru the tubes coming from the rear deck lid into some sort of ductwork with vents. Mine just shoots the air into the passenger compartment. Funny how those tubes are still intact and look to be in surprisingly good condition.
  10. So this car with this system in it is rare?
  11. First post on here. I just bought a 54 Lincoln Capri with ac for my wife. The system seems to be complete including the plastic tubes from the trunk. My question is, is this a rarity? I would like to keep it and get it working for the originality of the car, but my wife wants to go with vintage air and get rid of the big box in the trunk and the tubes. Would like to know if they are difficult to get parts for and if they can get converted to r-134. I am in AZ and the car is a lifetime AZ car. It's been parked under a hay barn since 65. 98% complete. Thanks
