  3. Thank you for the reply, I have not spoken to David and did not receive an email back, I did send him another email this morning. I am a little confused about the statement 3 people emailed him as I have not had anyone else reach out to him just to clarify. Thank you, Cheryl

  6. There is no floor mat on my 32 just a ragged old piece of carpet ( not original) I have searched the internet but came up with nothing, does anyone know if someone makes these or where I could possibly find one? Thank you
  7. I have met some of the nicest most helpful people on here and I greatly appreciate all the information and time everyone has provided as I learn I will help anyone I can! Thank you again!!
  8. Thank you so much I emailed him and he called me, wow nicest man EVER and is so full of knowledge on my car, amazing!!! So happy I was able to connect on here with all of you!
  9. Thank you Grimy for the feedback I have not found the stoplight switch is it underneath the car on the left hand side? So the lens caps we were trying to remove is not the actually headlight but the lights to the left of the headlight and right of the headlight I presume they are some kind of running or fog light? We did try but was unsuccessful until we received further notification as to how to properly remove them. As soon as I find the stoplight switch I can send a photo of it does anyone happen to have a diagram of what that looks like? Trini so my car gets driven about 2-3 times a week I am in Cali so we have nice weather and I love to just take her out even if its for a few blocks she is fun to drive!! I was unable to even find a 63 or an 81 bulb in this town!!! I would imagine I need to find a vendor online that supplies them?
  10. Found the info tag inside the engine, a couple of questions I am looking to get answered. So the carpet in the back looks to be original has a pinkish tone to it, the seats look to be Grey both front and back (look to be original)however the front has just an old piece of carpet thrown down its definitely not original but I am wondering did the front originally have carpet or was it a rubber of some sort? She has what looks to be the original pull down shades in the rear windows, there is a foot rest bar in the rear however it does not lock in position, the knob on the shifter appears to be wood. Is there somewhere that I can find a brochure that actually shows the options you could order when purchasing this vehicle? Tag reads as follows: 32 8-57S serial 201158 body serial 526 engine2799416 body job 32519 Trim 45 paint 8086 I need to replace the front floorboard area so I just want to make sure I replace it with whatever was originally there. Also there is no luggage box on the back rack was that just an option on this series? Thank you for any feedback, its greatly appreciated!
  11. ok both the brake lights and tail lights are working thank you so much any idea how to get the cover off of the front running lights? I am sure the bulbs are bad my dash lights aren't working so I will check the wiring underneath and see if I can see a problem there, very excited we have some rear lights working perfectly!! Also the folded tabs you are saying to open up and clean the contacts that is under the car correct? Hubby was a mechanic for 45 years so that helps.
  12. This can't be good lol any idea what that copper wire if for?
  13. thank you, so red is working but the amber is not!! so I need to find out if there is power coming in there here is just a hook where the bulb goes in the end of the bulb connects but no power on the bottom I will check the relay under the dash to make sure all the wires are connected I did have the lights on the steering wheel is the wrong position😁 gave my hubby a little jolt so to the left on the wheel the red top tail light is on the straight down is totally off and the red tail works on all other stations. I am assuming they are two different wires???
  14. Thank you for the RainX idea she has no wipers on her but should be ready in case I get caught in the rain, I will try the #81, so my tail light casing has red on top and amber on bottom, any idea what the amber is for? Running lights maybe??? Any idea where a girl can get her hands on a manuel for Bessie???
  15. Thank you so they both have 63 in them the upper light red is functioning one bulb was burnt out the other the contact was not hitting, however the amber (bottom of tail light) light is not functioning is there a reverse light on these? I will try the 1129's to see if I can get a brighter light however I doubt that I will every drive this in the evening and definately not in the rain! You guys are great thank you!!
  16. Headlights are working however no tail lights and no brake lights, I attempted to remove the cover from the tail lights 2 screws removed it there a trick to removing the cover? Also if someone could guide me to the fuse box where is it located? There is a switch at the bottom of the dash a very small silver switch that moves left to right trying to determine what exactly that is for. Thank you any feedback is appreciated!
  17. I am trying to determine if the brake lights are suppose to turn on with the light switch on the steering wheel on a 32 Buick series 50. My headlights work fine I literally have no tail lights. Trying to find a manuel as I current don't have one, I inherited the car from my father just picked her up had a few minor things done as realized yesterday while cruising around town I have no tail lights, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
  18. Thank you!!! I do know to restore to original and I really am torn as to keep the original fabric or replace it, for now I am going to look for some nice seat covers!! The shop that worked on her (because lol I am a woman and am clueless how to fix these cars) told me to just leave her alone for now and said he literally had people stopping all day long wanting to know what/where did that car come from????!!!! What you said is exactly what he told me no one around here has ever seen anything quite like her! So thank you for the helpful tips and I do greatly appreciate all the feedback from all of you! She is so fun to drive as people both young and old admire her for what she is. I agree with you sometimes the old original is better than the restored new! She was my dad's show car back in 2009, she took 2nd a few times I do need to get some wax on her I believe I read that liquid wax is the best. My boys both in their late 30's love this car, they just love cruising around town in her. My grandson is 12 he actually named her Bessie, I LOVE THIS CAR
  19. All great information thank you very much for that, I am in Santa Barbara, CA and looking for someone that specializes in upholstery work and I do have a few repairs paint wise the are in front of the running boards on both side I think will need to be repainted. I double that I will ever show her I have already had a couple people ask to get involved but honestly I just love to drive her around town! So Mark a question for you, there is a little switch right at the bottom of the dash that switches back and forth (left to right)any idea what this switch is for? It is a tiny little lever, it is not the one that opens the flap on the hood. I don't have manual as of yet but looking to try to find one. g-g-go thats a long time with no communication, my mechanic here is town that has worked on her told me about this someone according to him its about the only place you can get the fabric but some reason he was under the impression they also did the upholstery work?
  20. Wow Mark she does!! My dad has had her I believe since 2007 she took 2nd place in 2009 I believe, did you restore yours? Shes a beauty!! Is that trunk box an original I haven't see that before! I would love to restore the inside with the same fabric someone said there is someone in Oregon that orders the original mohair fabric still trying to locate him, do you know anything about the turn signals? Mine either don't work or I haven't figured it out yet, they do not work from the light lever on the center of the steering wheel.
  21. Thank you, I knew it was going to be a problem back seat is really in great shape but really really dusty I covered them with sheets to take the family for a drive yesterday lol no one wants to sit on that upholstery. I have no idea what I am doing here lol I am a woman my dad passed away and I decided to keep her, she had an exhaust leak and the carburetor had to be rebuilt, she runs really well!! Any ideas as to what to use or NOT to use as far as washing and giving her a good wax? Thank you again for the response!!
  22. I am new to this whole issue, I just inherited a 32 Buick 57S from my dad that recently passed away, the vehicle has been stored in his warehouse and hasn't been touched probably for a few years. She is running, starts like a champ (those brakes!!) yes I know they are cable, no fluid. I know the head lights work but the tail lights do not and need to get these working. I know the light switch is on the steering column along with the cruise control however I read there is a switch at the base of the steering column? I did find a small switch the moves left to right (not physically on the center of the steering wheel) and am curious what exactly that is? I could use some overall times as far as getting a good coat of wax on her and general guidelines on what to use or not use on the paint. Thank you for any responses I would love to try to preserve her as best I can!!
  23. Looks like the original upholstery back seat is in great condition however the front appears to either be stained or could be the fabric failing, trying to determine the best way to attempt to clean the upholstery without further damaging the fabric. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
