  1. And no paint on the connection were the negative cable connection is.
  2. You are amazing with all the help. First I’m located in Phoenix Az and the lights do not turn on now. I have sent a message to the prior owner about the fuse. I made sure that the other wire at the positive connection was attached but didn’t look to see if it was broken. The weather has been bad today here so I haven’t been under the hood today to look for the ground from engine to body. Hope to be able to do that tomorrow. Been reading the manual and trying to figure out the wiring diagram so I can try to see if anything came lose. It’s just got me stumped. Changed a light and a few hour latter turned the car on and FaceTime with my Pop so he could see it and no issues, didn’t even drive it. Next morning nothing.
  3. No ground strap that I have seen. Just followed the diagram that showed the negative cable bolted to the mount. Will take a look for a strap in the morning thanks for the heads up!
  4. I just got a meter and researching how to use/ read it so I can start testing. I put new 0 gauge positive cable and a brand new breaded negative cable. I cleaned the contention to the motor mount for the ground. I will try the booster cable from the negative to another part of the engine and see what happens. Any help with a link to show me how to jump the starter?
  5. We just bought our first classic car a 1950 Buick Special Model 41D. It ran great for the first week than just decided to stop. Before it stopped I changed the tail light bulbs and one headlight bulb. It ran after that then the next morning nothing. It had a kill switch that I removed and I replaced both battery cables. Took the batter down and had it tested and it is working. I am just not getting any power anywhere. With key in the on position, no lights no horn and it will not crank when the gas pedal is depressed. Looking for some directions. What to look for and what to try next before calling a tow truck to take it to a shop. I have the shop manual and trying to read the diagrams.
