Yup the radiator is out. it was a beast in itself to remove. Not hard but heavy.

Ok so this coming weekend I'm removing the engine from the transmission and out of the car to have it painted and clean and paint the engine bay. Everything is removed from the engine except the mounts to the frame. I want to leave the torque converter in the transmission. Does the engine just unbolt from the transmission at this point? Thanks

Mine doesn't have the side panels. Did they all come with them in that beige material or did some models not have the side panels. I wouldn't think they would have gone missing haha.

Hello. Do all 1950 Buick trunks inside have cardboard liners on the sides. I don't believe mine does. Only on the floor and behind the rear seat has the tan and brown material. Nothing under the spare tire just the painted trunk pan under that. Anyone have a picture of theirs. Thanks.

Hello. In the trunk behind the rear seat is a gray textured rectangular piece of trim or trim board. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement or have a replacement they would like to sell. Thanks. Nick.

I've found a shop to paint my parts instead of the powder coating. The engine color is special and he will paint it but the black items will be powder coated.

Just got the head and rocker arms back from the machine shop. He said there was a bunch of black junk clogging the arm to a degree. It's all good and cleaned now. It looks pretty good. Didn't take a picture of the head because it was pretty heavy and cold in the garage. I will next week when it warms up slightly haha.

Ok I'll do that thanks Ben

Does anyone know or have a stud for the spark plug cover. There was one in the block but I think I need two. Much appreciated. Thanks. Nick

Haha thanks. It's all good. She is a good woman. I did protect the table too.

What's so unusual about that?🙂
Kitchen table is handy for rebuilding carbs, cleaning and lubing tools, and plenty more old car things!
Back when I first started at the powerplant (and we could get away with such) the shift supervisor brought in a Jonsered chainsaw and we tore down the engine and rebuilt it on the control room kitchen table.
Haha. If I was married that probably would be frowned upon haha 😂 but not yet.

Yes that's on the kitchen table haha. I think it turned out pretty good.

Also can someone please share a picture of the gasket between the tranny and the engine for the dynaflow. Not having much luck online. Thanks. Nick.

This may sound elementary but when they painted the engines at the factory did they prime them or just spray the paint on bare cast metal?
-
Thanks rocketraider. Yes I was. Spark plugs are all good.

Finally found the plugs. It took my friend at Napa a couple days to find them but they will be here in a couple days.

Does anyone have one head bolt laying around or know where to find a replacement. On a side note I've found the freeze or expanding plugs are difficult to find. They are a deep cup and the napa store is having a hard time unless a thinner plug but the same size will work.

Paint. I had a friend paint my parts. I'm so excited on how these turned out. The head, fuel pump, water pump, spark plug, valve and side cover and the intake manifold and water outlets and thermostat housing all in the correct color. All the gaskets are in the car in the packaging too.
