["Unbadging" a clone GS?]

Thanks everyone!  I appreciate the feedback.  I think between the high price and too many things that aren't exactly accurate make it cost prohibitive.  I do love the color combo though!  Need to get the garage finished anyway.

I saw this car the other day online which I really like (other than the fact that it seems to be overpriced).

My biggest problem (other than the price) is that it is not a GS.  Is there any real way to remove the GS markings or is the damage already done to the sheetmetal and no great way to repair?

 

I believe this maybe the same car that was looked at prior when kReed was looking for a 68 GS.  I love the color, bucket seats, factory AC, etc.  Just not the faux GS.

[Fire extinguisher: Where to place in a ‘63 Riviera]

I thought this was a great topic so had to chime in.  I lost my first car, a 1970 Olds Cutlass when the fuel line snapped and caught on fire while I was in it.  To the post above, even if I had a fire extinguisher in my trunk I would have had minimal chance to get it in time.  If possible, might be best to find a way to store it inside the car if possible.  At least I still have the Cutlass emblem on my bookshelf to remember it by....

The goal would be as original as possible. I will replace parts with the correct replacement parts when possible but I have no real need to make any changes.  I'm just hoping it is still there on Friday when I can get there!

Thank you both.  I will get a better look at it on Friday so will keep those in mind and I will take a picture of air cleaner lid and the A/C compressor.  On the price sheet for the car that I was sent it shows a "heavy duty air cleaner" for an additional whopping $9.48. As I mentioned, I like the car regardless of whether its a GS but interested to know.  Thanks again.

 

As to the screen name, I do corporate taxes and have sarcastically been referred to as the tax man my whole career.

How can you confirm if a car is truly a GS?  I'm looking at 1970 Riviera for sale and I see GS badging in pictures but don't see it on the original bill of sale?  Is the assumption that the badge was put on after the fact or is there another way to confirm when looking at the car in person.  I like the car either way but any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
