The Classic Flippers line, "I always wanted one of them".

That's a line everyone on this forum has said whenever they bought an antique car.  I just bought a 1965 Mustang last year and had never ridden in one in my life. At 75 years old everything I buy is something I always wanted.  Seems like i heard it on Chasing Classic Cars Often!

Three years later the law suits were finally settled and damages paid. The thief was able to pay off his mortgage with enough left over for a trip to Vegas with his girl friend.........Bob

That's what they call "The American Dream"

  3. This is probably a couple of thieves who attend most of the swap meets. They enjoy stealing gas and oil high end items. Probably does not affect 99 percent of the vendors.  Dixie Gas, Carlisle, Hershey they get around.

  4. I only brought this up because there seems to be an uptick in theft. I know with 3 of these vendors the items left during the day.  It's a tough way to learn a lesson these days. The only solution is to make vendors aware.

  5. Last October I mentioned on the forum about 3 well known vendors losing items at Hershey. They were vendors selling advertising items. Spring Carlisle this year, Fill-er-up had a ECO Air Meter stolen off the back of their trailer.  Matt couldn't keep an eye on everything at once while dealing with customers. These crooks are very good, and nobody can be trusted unless you know them. Maybe vendors can be warned by the region?  The value of the meter was $1800.  and one of the signs stolen at Hershey was $3000.  I'm sure there are more items lifted and not reported.

I have no clue what you’re referring to.

I have two PMs from you. One was about wanting to analyze the forum statistics I posted in 2023. Since you were not familiar with the statistics tool used to generate them, providing access was moot. The other message was a minor edit request for the AACA club website, which I forwarded to the appropriate person, as I’m not the AACA webmaster.

FYI: I’m the forum admin, not an AACA Board of Director. If you wish to volunteer, you need to reach out to the appropriate party.

AACA Forum Statistics - Feb 2023.

Does the AACA Board of Directors have much say for the Hershey Event?

  7. Why would the Hershey Region want to move their Hometown Show? Their Clubhouse is a mile up the road with a Beautiful Museum and Hotel out front.  Locals run the show and would be a big inconvenience to them. I only missed 1 year since 1986 so I've seen the best years, and those days are gone. I'm sure the Region sees the handwriting on the wall and are hopefully thinking of some changes. I vend and sell mostly Mon-Wed and Thursday is long and boring and hot.  Shorten the show and have the car show on Thursday.  Sure, you might lose some cars on the field but the ones that stay might be better quality.  Sometimes less is better but then again, I'm not the bean counter.

We dealt with a '54 Packard sedan that had a building collapse on it by putting our 3 strongest employees in the front seat, lying on their backs and they used their feet and muscles to massage the roof back close to where it was needed to be.

I would like to see one photo of the roof. I'm sure it's' well documented.  This roof sounds like 4 Men.

I figured I would wait to chime in.

People walking around with mental illness or severe addiction issues are nothing new in this country. What is new is the permissive attitude of the masses accepting it as normal and something that one should expect to deal with in the normal day’s routine. Senseless crime and millions of lives lost and wasted. Holding people accountable for their actions isn’t a popular theme today. It’s only going to get worse before the entire population gets tired of it and the pendulum swings the other direction. In the meantime there will be millions of more victims of violence, property damage, and the physical and emotional toll of the crime. Notice no political statement of any kind. The social contract of living in a heavily taxed and regulated society means we shouldn’t put up with any of it. I expect for most of us we won’t be here when the turnaround happens.

Ed, don't forget all the Karens walking around. They scare the hell out of me.

I wasn't going to respond anymore until I could fill in the blanks but Dave I chuckled on this one.  It was not a laptop...it was a Orkin outside rodent trap!!!  That was the only humorous part of this deal...I hope there was a mouse in it!

Now were really getting some information.

We had a very good day, and we were lucky with the weather because it was nice :) .
Just to know, which car did you prefer at this exhibition ? :)

I'm a Deutz Tractor Fan.  My in-laws in Germany farmed with them for years.  Great job on the photos.

  12. YouTube is a great source of information.  I just installed an ac unit in my car and works great.  I bought a vacuum pump off ebay for $140 and freon cans from an auto store.  Changing out a compressor or condenser is easy. I would also replace all the O-rings.  Freon also comes with a color which will show leaks.
