  1. We actually called Holly tech to make sure this would work. The tank is shallow so George made a pickup well in the tank and made a new curved pickup. The tank is TIG welded stainless. I'm going to be running Hilborn EFI that looks like the old style Hilborn mechanical injectors. This meant an in-tank pump and a return line. The pic of the engine is a mockup of my engine to test for accessory fitment but you get an idea of the fuel injection look.

  2. Thanks. I started this crazy project in July of 2018 after buying the car in May. Covid slowed things down but every month a little bit has happened. I am also guilty of "mission creep" and adding bells and whistles. It's been fun and frustrating at the same time. lol. I ended up contracting out the metal work because frankly I'm not skilled enough for something this nice. My builder is a picky craftsman who had issues with staff and Covid as well. We're still friends but we have a had a few testy moments over duration. I bite my lip and keep going.

  3. I haven't updated this thread in forever. Work is progressing but the changes are less visible. The floor is done and all body mounts done. The body is actually bolted to the frame. A tool was made so the PullMax could replicate the original Buick pattern on the floor pan and trunk pan. The Firewall has been completely filled and every thing from the toe boards to tool tray is new. The wheel tubs were also widened.

  4. I got my fenders home and they were an improvement over what I had, so that problem is solved. The latest work has been modifying the frame to fit the pedal box because I am putting a 6 speed in the car. It seems sacrilegious to cut up a $20,000+ frame but Art Morrison's engineers gave us the go ahead for the mod. First pic is the "fish" plates and second is the top to fill the cut.

  5. A mini 2022 update. I finally found better front fenders on the east coast. I contacted the guy in July. We finally found reasonable shipping to Seattle on Greyhound in December. My fenders arrived on Tuesday in Seattle. I am going to get them Friday. To satisfy the idiots running Canada I have to find somewhere to get me PCR test in the USA and deliver a negative result then I have to come back across the border. Given Omicron I may spend two days in a hotel waiting for a result. Fenders $650, shipping $320, PCR test $200, two nights hotel in Seattle $500, gas $75 my time 0, and getting my car done in 2022 priceless. :)

  6. I think it will look pretty cool. I am doing every thing I can to keep the body/interior as stock looking as possible. I am going with a 1939 color "Sequoia Cream" as I don't believe yellow was an available color in '37. Under the hood will be more 1960's looking. I copied the picture from Holley's site.

  7. Some updates. Floor pan is mostly welded to the transmission tunnel. Floors are done. I found better front fenders in New Jersey and they are on the bus to Seattle. Hopefully, they're better. We have pedals! The cardboard thing at the back of the frame is a mockup for a custom tank.
