Some of the floats can sink a little or a lot so best to measure the amount going in. I always lift the pin and you can sort of feel where the float hits the oil and go from there.

80,000 on the original tyres is mind blowing.

If I was young enough this would be exactly the condition I'd want to be buying a car in.
Your not that old Doug I’m sure you can squeeze another car in there somewhere.

Our road trips always involve parts pick ups. There is no other reason to go anywhere is there.

I think the problem you might run into Al, Is depending on which body builder built the car it may be slightly different.

Hello Matt,
There used to be a car just like the above DC-8 in Australia, here is a picture of it. It was a Budd bodied sedan with wood artillery wheels but it had been trucked. It is gone now, it got assimilated into a DC-8 rumble seat coupe in New South Wales. You could buy this one and there could be one in OZ again.
It’s become way to hard to import cars into Australia these days.

Now that is a good looking car. 😂

Grant just wanted to thank everyone for their kind words about his dodge. Grant and his family just love this old Ute, it’s been there for a long time. So it’s pretty special to finally have it on the road. He does browse through the forum but not registered to post anything.
It did give us a bit of grief getting the timing right but Bob helped point us in the right direction to get it al right. Thanks Bob.-

I'm looking to buy a match for this new rear window handle I already have. I can't seem to locate even a picture of the same style handle. This is for my 1928 Dodge Standard Six. The original handle I have from the car matches this one but I don't believe it is actually a Dodge handle. 5\16" square shank. Thank you in advance.
I have a couple of Victory 6 ones somewhere amongst all my shit.

Grant finished his beloved 24 dodge Ute today,“Jimbo”. It got its final polish and wax. He bought it with his dad when he was a teenager and started the restoration back then. Life , work and family kept it slow for a few years as it has for all of us.
A few years ago Grant and his son started back on it and built the back out of American oak. They did an amazing job and built it to exactly like the original.
I gave him a bit of a hand to finish the front off and he had Grant white do the hood which is basically the same as the roadster top.
She is an absolute gem.
We’ll get some pics with the top up.
