  1. Thanks!! You confirmed my suspicions.
  2. Thanks Chris!! I have a question I hope you can help with. When I pulled the master cylinder some brake fluid came out of the back. Does that mean I need to replace/rebuild the master cylinder? The fluid level was not going down before, just felt like there was no power assist.
  3. I have a 1962 body service manual that explains how to remove, install and adjust the lid and also the lock and striker. I don't know if 1964 is different. If you can't read them let me know. Maybe I can send them a different way.
  4. I got it out. Will send it to Booster Dewey.
  5. WOW!!!! Thanks for the great info. You are both Awesome!!!!
  6. Thanks everyone!!! The body shop check all of the yards in AZ. They found one that had been welded, not good. I just sent an email to Bud's Salvage. We will see what that brings. I don't have a current Hemmings so I'll go get one. Actually I don't have an old one either. Wife doesn't understand saving old magazines and catalogs???
  7. When I bought my 1962 Electra 225 4 door hardtop last summer it came with, what I was told was, the OE motor and trans. The motor in the car has dual AFB's on a Weiand manifold, aluminum rocker covers and valley cover. And my wife wondered why I wanted to buy it!! I would like to verify what the other motor and trans are. Can anyone tell me what numbers to look for and where they are? Thanks in advance!
  8. My 62 Electra 225 was in a collision. The shop has found a great fender and wheel house but can't to find a decent hinge. I'm in Phoenix, AZ. Please help me. The weather is beautiful and I can't drive my car!!!
  9. Thank you everyone!!! Bill, I did some checking on eBay, found a good price on a used manual, it's on the way. Paul, I'll start looking for R-12 and I'll keep Classic Auto Air in mind for parts and rebuilds. Pete, thanks for the heads up on prices. I sure hope I end up closer to the $200 than $2000 and I'm sure my wife will too!!!! Bernie, when I mentioned maybe going to a Vintage Air unit he began explaining why he would not recommend it. Lots of modification and fabrication. He also said he thinks the compressor may be OE based on the tags/labels. He knew where to get it rebuilt. Again, THANK YOU EVERYONE!!! I really appreciate the advice and quickness of getting it to me.
  10. I recently bought a '62 225 with factory air that does not work. A trusted shop asked if I have a shop manual, which I do not have. Does anyone know if the shop manual has a section on A/C? I live in Phoenix, AZ. Does anyone have a suggestion for a shop here that is familiar with cars like mine?
