Our 1st generation Riviera’s are rated at 325, 340, or 360 horsepower depending on cubic inch displacement and carburation.  This is horsepower measured at the flex plate / flywheel.  In the early 70s, horsepower was being measured at the rear wheels.

Has anyone come up with an equation or formula for converting the flywheel (SAE) horsepower to the rear wheel (NET) horsepower.  I’m curious as to how my 360 hp 1965 Gran Sport would be rated using today’s standards.

    Ed,

There seems to exist a lot of approximations out there such as this that talks about a 15% loss:

I have no idea either, but there are hundreds of PDF files to sort through.  If you copy paste the links that I posted, I've already gone through the sort and you'll go to the correct file.

    Ed,

if you look through your post you will see that the link you posted goes to a local copy of the file on your PC thus not usable.

I guess this is the one you are trying to paste:

Pages 5 - 8 of Mr. G's grommets.  If you print it out, the printout will be the actual size of  the part..

Here's the link to the entire selection of everything, including the interior kit (GM1117) for which I suppled the originals.

edit:  It appears that I can't copy and paste the links, you'll have to copy and paste from this post into your browser.

Don’t know what went wrong with your link. This is the website for Mr G:

All I'm seeing is a big blank space with a little dash inside a circle.  Is everyone else see the pictures?  I was going to look at your Engine Serial Number again and see where your engine was built.  Here's a copy and paste of what I see where there used to be pictures.

    Ed,

It is a little bit weird. If I click on the picture that seems empty on my iPad and use the arrows to go left then after three left arrows I get to the picture of the engine.

    U bought them from where?

Most of the information is in the thread if you read it all. As mentioned in it you have all the information for searching for the flasher there too.

Hi don't remember if my 64 Riv was like my 61 Electra. But it had a sending unit on the master cylinder. Two leads came from that. If they are to route to each brake light look there for an open in that run.

The last year for the sending unit on the master cylinder was 1963.

  8. This is just a guess so take it for what it is:
