Go for it! Enjoy the Model A.

I agree with the above. Doubt you are going to get what you have in it. If you can get it running that would help Just not much demand for these and less than $10K would get you a decent running one. Hope you can sell it without much loss. Put it out there with $4K and see what happens. You can always go down.

I could easily see a shop with knowledged employees doing skilled work that is not easily replaced with another having to charge $120 plus an hour if not more. I run a business that my average employee is making $20/hr and I have to charge $70-$80 an hour to cover my overhead. Granted my business is outdoors so I have to figure in rain days, You figure skilled metal shaper or exert painter is make $40-50 an hour or more.

Did you get my email. Eric Hill

When I disasembled my 1919 Chandler there was a very worn strip all the way across the radiator bottom. Not reusable so I plan on using thick rubber washers with fender washers. Suggestion. One of my studs was very corroded from a radiator leak. I was afraid of breaking the stud so carefully used heat to remove the rusted nut. When I get my radiator back I am thinking I will use antisieze and drill and cotter-pin the studs.

All around this screams scam. Hold onto your money.

Still waiting on my 1919 Radiator. I will let you know how it turns out Your looks great.

Bob, when you are done will you please come do mine. North Georgia is not that far away honest. I have the same rims and size tires and have been fighting them. I know I am doing something stupidly wrong, but cannot get my rims to expand back out to connect the ends. I am going to try the half circle wood bucks that was shown above.
Wish the best for you.

Eric where is your radiator being repaired? Ours is still at Brassworks where a completely new core is being installed. Hope to have it back later this month. And I wish it only going to cost $1900 🫤
Marietta Radiator Service here near Atlanta. It will look slightly different from the original but for me that's fine as it was 1/3 the cost. I have a Braasworks radiator in my speedster and have never had issues.

Curious to what size rope seal you will be using. I have to repack mine as it is leaking. I have my 1919 radiator being re-cored and repaired costing me $1900 Ouch!

I got the answer to this price dilemma as well as guaranteeing the future of The Fall Meet. All the vendors coming now sell us all your stuff dirt cheap so we buy more and you take home more cash and cover your booth space. Then ten years from now when we buyers all realized we bought way too much stuff because it was cheap will then take it all back to Hershey to sell.
You all can thank me later. 😊

I say QIT YOUR BITCHIN. I live in Washington state and have attended Hershey only 2 times due to cost of airfare, hotel, etc. etc.
I calculated my purchase of a $30 dog bone radiator cap actually cost close to $1500.
Haha! I NEVER factor in the cost of going to Hershey into what i purchase as it would be way ridiculous. But hey its fun and I can always go out and make more money . A friend went with me for the first time this year and asked is I had a list to things I was looking for. Said, nope don't need anything. He asked why i was going. told him you'll see. I live in Georgia and costs me about $900 to go. each year.

Is an additional $10-15$ per space seriously going to deter someone from continuing to come? I get it that the other costs involved with attending have increased also (gas, food, lodging) so overall expenses increase. I am sure they have no choice but in crease space costs with all their over head to put on the event increasing also. It it makes you feel any better those of us who come to buy and bring a trailer along are paying $40 a day to park. Three days and I pay $120 to park.

Well boys now that we have cleared that up let's keep our eye on the ball. Who knows the whereabouts of 1928 Hupmobile Coupe #99403? Somebody must have it in their garage, be a sport and have a look.
Checked mine. Not there Just a Chandler which Hupmobile eventually bought out.

There are antique tools available on ebay to spread the split rim. You can get them for less than $100.00 Here's one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/225839993003?hash=item34951cd0ab:g:Kp4AAOSw0m9lNzvk&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4GPJrOrkcjpjzMi%2BsFLv%2BjMBVHUDj67ejTHr0EwN7X7iLV5YN2GzVVzyQ9zlhLGnO2ucolKjGuLEYL6MvQE9xljwm82TAPWfHaw3xoOLNwUfmT%2Bo1QEdaiFNzlW58KeIeLn0fdcILbweGY44%2FvAtCcmCX3JIS%2BrRom%2F3Xzn%2BgOfkMhg5tUpEYbWD5CKGBxrEm0%2BhOFz%2BgDnGQ6ob%2F9L0QZtGyd9z95EbaZvPP0NfyktJw87eA2kRmA8O6s5c0kNNDHEw1wj6HEUOnbbAoGV5xd0ukxmJZvEqnu9s0t1YtWQ7|tkp%3ABFBMnOvu74tj
Yes I have one and have tried but am exerting so much pressure I am afraid to distort the rim. I appreciate the info.

34 x 5 ? 34.5 does not sound like any tire I have heard of. What diameter of rim ?
The inside diameter of the rim where the tire bead sits is 25" If I am understanding correctly to determine tire 34-25 = 9 dived by 2 gives 4.5
so use 34x4.5 tire? I apologize I wrote it wrong above.

I am at wits end trying to mount my 34.5 tires on the demountable rims. For the life of me I cannot get the rims to expand far enough to clamp together with the tires on. I know I should be able to do this and I have mounted tires on Model A's but I must be overlooking something or doing something wrong. Does anyone know a shop in this area that I could see if they would take on the mounting? I live north of Atlanta GA but at this point will drive 100-200 miles to drop off is need be.
Thanks

With proper prepping and mixing etc. you should have no issues with Dupont. We painted a friend's Pontiac Chiefton about 35 years ago with Dupont on i still see the car and it look fine.

Eric I looked in the Series 25 Parts Manual and they are listed as seperate parts which leads me to believe they were serviceable by the owner. I cannot compare them to mine as they have a retaining screw on the bottom that allows you to loosen the ring to remove them. I would assume that these "snap" on and off.
Yes I will try to let the penetrating oil do its thing before attempting to unscrew or knock off. They look pretty sturdy so hoping some light blows with a rubber maillot do it.
-
Not sure how to remove the black ring. No screws holding it. Do they unscrew? I don't want to damage them. Right now I have sprayed PB Blaster into the backside of the rings to let that soak as i am sure no matter how they are connect they are corroded together. If it helps the bezels say Spreadlight on them.
Thanks
Eric
