  1. Reach me at: dusty@revivechurchboise.com
  2. I have three Reattas and would love sell one or two of them. They are ALL 1990 coupes and all have the saddle/tan interior. I have pictures of two of them in this listing. The third and unlisted one was painted dark cadillac grey. Pictures of that one coming. The Cherry red one has 87K miles on it. The previous owner added sporty wheels and a dual exhaust system. It also has a sunroof. It runs well and is my daily driver. The AC is crazy cold. The engine will run a little hot when it's over 95 degrees, but nothing crazy. $4800 The dark red is officially called garnet. This was the original color. Everything is stock on this one, but it also has a remote starter. I recently had it professionally repainted the original color. I don't drive this one much. The engine and transmission run well. The AC holds pressure and blows cold (but not as cold as the red one). It has around 55k miles on it (I'll check and post actual miles soon). Has the stock CD player that kinda works. $5800 The dark grey one has a modern stereo with DVD player, subwoofer and amp in the back. It has around 65k on it. The bumper is slightly off (pics coming soon) and the paint job, although fairly recent is only so so. It also smokes after it has sat for a while. This one passed smog with flying colors recently and I haven't had time to look into why it smokes. Engine and tranny feel solid when it's driven. This one also has an issue with the brightness of the dash. It's always bright, even at night. I'm guessing this is the sensor under the dash, but I haven't had the motivation to fix that. It's a 10 dollar part and at least a half day of work. $3800 I wouldn't hesitate to drive any of these across a few states. They feel and run great. Of course these are 30 year old cars and things wear out, but they all start right up and get down the road just fine. Happy to meet someone at the airport here in Boise and you can drive it home. Also happy to drive it to you if you pay for the return ticket. If you're interested in one of them, let me know and I'm happy to video chat with you and show you the car or cars. The interior on these are all in very good condition. I wouldn't say mint, but for 30 years they are looking really great.
  3. Thanks guys. I'll pull it apart as soon as I get my garage back. I'll do my best to report back.
  4. I have 3 1990 Reatta Coups. One of them has an AWESOME AC. It's 104 today and it doesn't care. I'm trying to get my other one to do the same thing. Already changed the compressor (all done right, new condenser, dryer, vacuumed out the moisture etc). Still not great. I'm thinking that they are both blowing the same temperature air, but the good one has a better fan. It pushes it out faster and further. The one I'm trying to supe' up works. The fan comes on and off, all the speeds work. Also has no problem pushing the air up, down or straight out. Can the speed of the fan be altered someway without replacing it? I know the dash brightness can be changed from the service menu, something similar for the blower motor? Does the fact that everything seems to work (albeit at 80%) mean the blower motor is good? Any wisdom is appreciated! Again, 1990 Coup (Garnet and Saddle with 50k in case you're curious)
  5. Yeah. Posted to 2 forums and have been responding to both. Right now it's at the mechanics. It took a lot to get the first harmonic balancer off. I want to make sure the new ones put on correctly so I'm letting the pros handle it. Thanks for all the information!
  6. Do you mean in the HB? Not sure what that is.
  7. 1990 Coupe. I have 2 problems that may or may not be related. When we were changing the harmonic balancer, we had to take off the timing chain cover to get the sheared pin out. Ever since, the car runs horribly. It feels labored and has to run some pretty high RPM to just get moving. Now it won't even start. Here are the facts . . . It smells like it's getting gas. After turning it over for 4 or 5 minutes you can smell it. I hear the fuel pump running. I confirmed that each of the wires coming off the distributer are sparking. I tried changing the ECM. I put in a new battery and new spark plugs. The oil pressure sensor reads empty or one dot. Although that maybe normal before it starts? There's a minor sound coming from behind the glove box. 3 quick, short sounds. Could be nothing. Here's what the engine sounds like. Note how it kinda wants to start at the end . . . Secondly, I can't get to the self diagnostic screen. Normally that's some pretty good help. When I hold down the buttons, it just flashes every few seconds. It won't go into diagnostic mode. See here . . . I appreciate any feedback. This engine was silky smooth until we messed with the balancer. I'd love to get it fixed!
  8. Corvanti, I didn't calibrate the crank sensor. Enlighten me on what that means. Padget Thanks for infö on oil pump. I'll check out the manual and see if it gives us what we need. Here's another random question. I know this 3800 is suppose to be bullet proof engine, will most mechanics know how to fix this quickly? Is this so obvious that I should stop trying to fight it myself? I hate to spend another 10 hours on something a tech guy could do in an hour.
  9. Thanks for the feedback. My father in law actually did the work. We double checked the timing belt, but didn't realize the georotor (a new term for me) was on the back of the cover. We'll look again. Where's the relief valve your talking about? Justin, thanks for the feedback. I'm pretty sure the oil sensor is good. I've never had a problem with it and I don't think we disturbed anything close to it. Thanks men.
  10. That's good news for those of us who run these cars until they die and then buy more. I'm on my second one. When it goes, I'll go find another one. I still get compliments and stares on that "cute little car."
  11. On my second reatta. The harmonic balancer went out and we had to pull the casing on the timing belt to get the pin out. Put it back in and the car runs horribly. Took it off again to make sure the timing belt wasn't off 180°. It wasn't. The engine has oil (at least according to the dipstick), but the oil gauge shows no oil. We shut it down and don't want to start it until we know there's oil in the engine. It runs really loud and fatigued too (almost like it has no oil). All that to say, do these have oil pumps? Is there a chance it went out? Did I screw something up when I took off the crank shaft? Also read one forum (not this one) where someone mentioned there might be a flap behind the oil filter that could be stuck. I've never heard of that. Any value in that? Thanks guys 1990. 120k. Coupe.
  12. Thanks for the warm welcome and friendly words. Here's my latest conundrum. When I put her drive, she locks me in. That's good. When I turn her off, she lets me free. Also great. However the touch pads on BOTH doors are not active. That can't be a wiring issue on BOTH doors right? I think it goes back to whoever had it before me retrofitted a cheap alarm system on it. So the question is, if you were going to splice in a third party keyless entry system, where would you do it? Or, is there a "brain" of some sort that would handle that.
  13. "The horn is in the dash" should read, "the horn is under the hood"
  14. . . . you know something's not quite right, you just can't put your finger on it. Recently stumbled upon a red '90 with 40k on it. I'm managed to fix the ac (needed freon), the cig lighter (fuse), the thermostat controls (just took it out and put it back in, lucky me:) and a myriad of other minor fixes. But now I need the help of the pros! The following electrical things are not working (and yes, I checked the fuses ). The dimmer doesn't work, the dash lights stay bright. This also means that the radio doesn't light up at night. The drivers side door electrical locks are not working (I have to manually pull it up and down), the interior and trunk lights don't work, the trunk only opens from the glove box and I can't get the keyless entry to work (black box present and accounted for). Having said that, this thing drives like a dream. Especially compared to my silver/grey version with 120k on it. I've driven my Reatta almost every day for the past 10 years and have fixed almost everything, hoping to drive this new one for another 10, but this electrical is kicking my backside. I'd love some input. It might be notable that the idiot I mean gentlemen who had it before me, put in a cheap little alarm system. The horn is in the dash and it disappears towards the steering wheel. Thanks! I love this forum. It's my first time to sign up for any forum.
